doug, it is a case of before speaking to WSEX on the phone & after....

as a 'lay', 'non horse' person I did see it the same way as smokey, but that would be my own fault for not knowing the background of horseracing, it is impossible for a online bookie to offer FULL TRACK ODDS & not risk being sunk on any given day.

I didnt realize that, & I dint know about the Para Mutual horse netowrk before talking to Steve

SS, has WSEX EVER said in print that they are NOT part of the pari pool? Do you really think Smokey or anyone else would make a play knowing there were hidden rules to deny them an actual track payout? LT

What If Smokey Had Won 30 Million On A 10$ Bet?

would they be liable to pay him because a sentence that they meant for another situation was mis-interpreted?

What I don't get from post #4 is smokey wants $600 ( Exacta ?), how did it get to 10k + ? Did he hit the triple and not realise it until later or something ? It must be the larger amount because nobody disputes that, but it seems to have started smaller, or am I crazy ?

<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->if you walk into a store & see a sticker on an item that should be 1000$ for 10$... is it your automatic right to buy that item?

this case is similar, smokey won 12K, but in another circumstance, someone coulld win MILLIONS on a 10 dollar BET.... any body not part of the horse network would be sunk..... why would WSEX take this risk?

perhaps the sentence was misleading, yes it was, however it was there to address the fact that morning odds on individual horses would not be used, rather track odds would be used, they added it when people used to call & ask why they didnt get the odds they thought they were getting.
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

WHAT??? AE YOU BEING SERIOUS??

YOU SAY THIS... "PERHAPS THE SENTENCE WAS MISLEADING, YES IT WAS"......... SO YOU AGREE THEY MISLEAD ME BUT IT OK???

PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE KIDDING....:icon_conf AND WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT A $10 ITEM??

THE PART I DID GET WAS THIS..... SMOKEY WON 1OK
YOU SAID IT THERE... WHY ARE YOU RIDING THE FENCE??? ARE THEY THREATENING TO PULL ADS??

THIS SITE IS FOR PLAYERS AND TO PROTECT US FROM GETING ROBBED.... YOU SAID THEY WERE WRONG AND THAT I WON... NOW I'M WRONG AND SHOULD HAVE WHAT??????????????????????????

PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE KIDDING

Doug.... I Bet A 4 Horse Tri Box And Won And They Are Paying Me $600 Instead Of $11,400 Which Was The "actual Track Payout" As They State That They Pay.

smokey, it has nothing to do with that....

I didnt understnad how this horse stuff worked before I talked to Steve, now I do...

the VAST MAJORITY of all books have the same rule....

are they liable for the entire bet because they had a rule that was misinterpreted? after all, their rule is in line with industry standard....

maybe a customer service gesture, but I do not beleive they are liable for the entire bet when their rules are in line with the industry....

Are There Any Online Bookies That Pay Full Track Odds?

Most likely ones that feed into the parimutual pool at the various tracks and work for a percentage.

I have been around horseracing for many years and this type of thing happens every year during Triple Crown time. Regular sports bettors want to get some action on big TV races like the Derby and jump in without doing complete due diligence. I have seen guys get paid 100 to 1 on an $8,000 tri because they didn't read the rules. Basically Kentucky Derby Day is the New Years Eve of horsebetting - meaning lots of amatuers are out having a good time. I am not implying this is the case with Smoky because I do not know his horse racing betting history. Just making a general statement.

IMO you did right to bring this to the forum, in hopes that WSEX offers some comprimise, by the rules you are screwed.

actually smokey, you may not realize this, but many bookies have MAX PARLAY PAYOUT ODDS....

Bet365 for example which is an A+ bookie at SBR has max payout rules & if you make a parlay that pays more & you hit it you are SOL

If you want to split hairs and only pay attention to the one statement then get it correct is says Based on actual Track Payouts. Did it ever dawn on you to you (a veteran of Offshore wagering) to check the actual payoff page - where is is cut a dry?

Aside from what I wrote earlier....

Smokey's in the RIGHT here!!!

Every Gambler's dream said it best...PERIOD...

"alot of people signup as new customers to bet on certain events. We have a site claiming actual track payouts on their main page for the KY Derby. The statement alone would make people think all wagers are included since they did nothing to show that exceptions existed."

They got caught w/their pants down.....And I would be willing to wager....that damn statement hasn't been on their front page for 10 years....maybe 2/3 weeks....FALSE ADVERTISING....

they would definitely lose a lawsuit in the states...

so there's really no more debate....hopefully both party's work something out....or perhaps...the rx being in the states will do the right thing..???

I don't like playing horses online unless it is through a place that takes horses exclusively where I have no worries about crap like this.
