Cool: Wayne Gretzky (first time i got him to sign something he was coming out of "Fritz's" adult club by anaheim stadium - i basically ambushed him - and he signed), Joe Sakic (when he first came up - later turned into an a**hole), Mark Kotsay/Phil Nevin/Tim Wallach/Cedric Ceballos (at least for me - they will sign ANYTHING as long as i have something Cal State Fullerton on), Teemu Selanne (one of the all-time coolest guys ever!), just about every NHL guy - especially the "goons" (the "goons" are almost ALWAYS the coolest guys on any team to deal with), Mario Lemieux, Jack Nicklaus, Chi Chi Rodriguez (ALWAYS signs for the kids first - but will sign forever - and talk to the fans - and is SUPER cool!), agree on others brought up already - Tom Glavine and Chris Chelio (who does NOT sign cards - he only does that for charity), David Wells was cool to deal with, Joe Theismann, Tom Jackson, Michael Irvin, Eric Lindros, Vin Scully, Ernie Harwell, Fernando Valenzuela, Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Jerru Rice, Rod Woodson, Peyton Manning, Jack Ham, Jim Kelly, Sean Salisbury, Denis Ptovin, Rogie Vachon, Dave Taylor, Luc Robitaille (a HOF NHL guy and even a bigger HOF off the ice - EASILY one of the all-time nicest guys you will EVER want to meet), Brooks Robinson (of all of the "old timers" he is the EASIEST guy to get stuff signed by - he will sign until his arm falls off - he is that nice and cool!), Dr. J, (Former NBA #1 overall pick - and current Lakers' B-caster) Mychal Thompson (will sign ANYTHING!), John Elway (will sign ONE item - no problem), Tim Salmon, Dennis Eckersley (when he played at the angels - he would go on a run out the ball part of the stadium about 2 hours before the game and when he came back 45 minutes later would sign one item for everyone there), Jackie Slater
A**holes: Emmitt Smith, A-Rod (at times), Paul Kariya, Tony Gwynn (Gwynn is Asst Coach for SDSU baseball - they are playing at Irvine - a friend and i approach him - JUST THE 2 of us - and politely ask him to sign something - and he barely acknowledged us - and wouldn't take 5 seconds to sign something for us - what a prick), Mark Messier, David Letterman, Magic Johnson, Bob Uecker, Patrick Roy, Keyshawn Johnson (told us "I only sign for my people" - imagine if John Rocker had said that - imagine the outrage there), Bobby Knight, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Karl Malone (i reffed his daugher's youth hoops game - and afterwards a few kids asked him to sign stuff - and he stiffed them all - saying "This isn't the time or place to do that!"), Troy Glaus (a 1st class ******** to deal with), Mark McGwire (see Glaus and Malone),
2 HOF A**holes:
A.) Rod Carew - if it had been HIM who needed the blood transfusion to save his life - NO ONE would have come forward - he is one of the all-time biggest a**holes who has ever walked the planet
b.) Marcus Allen - and he is bigger than Carew - who will at least sign every now and then. some of us see Allen at the 2000 Pro Bowl. he is there to do stuff - so we see him - and ask for his autograph - nicely! NO - he won't do it - but he will take a pic with us. BIG F*****G DEAL! i have seen him a few times since and after being turned down one more time i (and those around me) don't even bother him - which i guess is what he wants. i am 1005 serious here - if he were drowning and asked me to save him, i would simply tell him, "Sorry, I don't sign autographs" and walk away and let him drown - knowing by me letting him die i did the planet a HUGE favor and got rid of a major league prick!
