Payne Stewart. While living in LV in the 90's, I won an amateur entry into the LV Invitational Golf Tournament. The format was 4 ams playing with a different pro for the first 4 days of the tournament. The other three ams in my group paid the $7,500 entry fee. On Friday, the 3rd day, Payne was our pro. He barely acknowledged us as he showed up on the first tee a minute before the required time. He never spoke to any of us, and we had a particularly poor golfer in the group (remember he paid $7500 to play), Payne actually stared this man down more than once until he picked his ball up and got out of the way. Payne was not having a good round, and muttered and motioned constantly, obviously blaming his poor play on us. He was amazingly perplexed when I and one other golfer ignored him when he tried to shake hands as the round ended. I know he died tragically, but he was a jerk.
