Are you guys that dense? QB stats were way different in previous eras, perhaps a greater discrepancy than any other sport.

Wouldn't you agree though that Bradshaw was an average QB that just played on great teams? Had his teams not been good, he would not be in the HOF.

We could make that case about alot of multiple SB winning QB's... Most SB teams have alot of great players...The offensive talent in Pittsburgh wasn't exactly overwelming either..Not sure alot of people put Chuck Noll on a pedestal either

Bradshaw played great when it counted but as you look at his career numbers, he is not HOF worthy IMO. Look at Swann's career numbers. His highest number of receptions in one year was only 61. Who was throwing to Swann?

Look at the qb numbers of his era. QB's threw downfield much more than now. A great completion percentage then was 55-60%.

Good point. Fran Tarkenton's % during the same time period (70's) is right around 60%. In my mind there's a big difference between 50% and 60%.

VD, if his teams weren't good and they didn't go to a Superbowl or let's say he won 1 out of 4, in your mind, would he still be in the HOF?

Reality my friend...that's why he is in.....

But to answer your question, of course not...in the NFL, winning is the only thing...

I appreciate your honesty. I would say though that he only performed above average in 2 of his 4 Super Bowl games.

Thank you for making my point.....running backs were at a premium during those days....

Look at Bill Mazerowski of the Pirates...the 7th game HR in a World Series got him voted in the HOF....not a great career by any strech of the imagination...
