Dindons Is Back!
I agree. It is time to take a hard stance against this tip rape that is occurring all over the world. Waitresses tell me that we have to tip because they need to tip out a certain amount of the bill to the support staff (ie. cooks). In other words, if I don't tip at all, the waitress has to pay out of her pocket to the cooks. Ah, well that sounds reasonable then......no, it doesn't. I will begin to take a harder stance on tipping. I go to some restaurants where I know the owners or some of the servers on a personal level. In these establishments, I will continue to tip 15-20% (in addition, the service is usually excellent). for all other locations, I will leave a small tip if any at all (5-10%). It is not my job to supplement the waitresses' income. If they aren't pleased with their pay, they can find work elsewhere. Now I understand that in some cases I may start to become known as a rogue customer. This could lead to poor service in the future, or perhaps them spitting in my food. If I get subsequent poor service from a waitress that I did not tip well in the past, I will make a huge scene. If my food is tampered with in any way, I will make a huge scene. If I can prove it, I will take legal action. I don't earn dollars so I can pass it off to someone who is undeserving. Tipping should not be confused with taxation. It is not mandatory and it's about time we start to treat it as it was first intended. I am the President of "Dindons Against Ridiculous Tipping" (DART). I am accepting people to join my group. You may remember I was also the President of Dindons Against NeoMax....this was a very successful group. Fishead, for shame. $2 per drink? Save your money. Or if you're a big wheel, just give it to charity.
