Same with restaurants, why is it a % of the bill? It should be a basic per person deal, if service was good. You can add on a bottle of wine that kicks the bill way up, and the waitress deserves like 15% of that? WTF. I can't stand it...IM getting all heated up typing this shit...LOL. I have no problem tipping, don't get me wrong, but it should be looked at as a bonus to the person for a job well done.

bases - here's why you tip $20k if you make 1 million. because without the dealer and the situation, you would not have made the 1 million. you have to give him a nice fee for making it happen for you.

No Way..thats ridiculous....the dealer dosen't create the situation...its a random event. Thats like me following you around the casino..and me tellin you that im your good luck charm. You can lose 364 days in a row...but on the 365th day...you win 20k, and I expect a tip for being your good luck charm! Hey without me there..you may not have won!

A nice fee? All the tips are shared anyway, so it's not like that particular dealer gets to take home $20k.

A nice fee? Is the dealer a toll booth of some kind?

I should have also mentioned in my earlier post that I tip $0.50 per drink received, and I feel stupid doing that even.....

Dealers at the Wynn are making $2500/week? Can anyone confirm this?

Baseswiz makes a good point. How does the price of the meal determine the amount of the tip. If I sit in a restaurant and stuff my face for $50 or eat $10 worth, what's the difference to the waitress? She has to bring me food and drinks anyway....from now on I may just tip a flat rate. $5 or something per meal.

Dindons Is Back!

I agree. It is time to take a hard stance against this tip rape that is occurring all over the world. Waitresses tell me that we have to tip because they need to tip out a certain amount of the bill to the support staff (ie. cooks). In other words, if I don't tip at all, the waitress has to pay out of her pocket to the cooks. Ah, well that sounds reasonable then......no, it doesn't. I will begin to take a harder stance on tipping. I go to some restaurants where I know the owners or some of the servers on a personal level. In these establishments, I will continue to tip 15-20% (in addition, the service is usually excellent). for all other locations, I will leave a small tip if any at all (5-10%). It is not my job to supplement the waitresses' income. If they aren't pleased with their pay, they can find work elsewhere. Now I understand that in some cases I may start to become known as a rogue customer. This could lead to poor service in the future, or perhaps them spitting in my food. If I get subsequent poor service from a waitress that I did not tip well in the past, I will make a huge scene. If my food is tampered with in any way, I will make a huge scene. If I can prove it, I will take legal action. I don't earn dollars so I can pass it off to someone who is undeserving. Tipping should not be confused with taxation. It is not mandatory and it's about time we start to treat it as it was first intended. I am the President of "Dindons Against Ridiculous Tipping" (DART). I am accepting people to join my group. You may remember I was also the President of Dindons Against NeoMax....this was a very successful group. Fishead, for shame. $2 per drink? Save your money. Or if you're a big wheel, just give it to charity.

I should also add.... I do not object to tipping if the service is above and beyond the call of duty. When I am upgraded to a suite at a hotel, I usually tip. If I'm counting cards while playing BJ and the dealer consistenly gives me good penetration, I tip well.

If the dealer is unfriendly, I would not tip regardless of amount won.

Mr. Smith, I am certainly not a stiff customer. Please re-consider your stance on this issue. If you continue to donate inflated tips to undeserving people, the level of service you receive will plummet.

Many people in the "tipping industry" have come to expect tips. (It's usually broads who behave like this.) Enough is enough.

Servers must pay taxes on the AMOUNT of EACH bill, thats just ONE reason why you shouldn't do this.

What about those dam bathroom attendents? Whats the right amount to tip those bastards for putting the dam towel on your shoulder after brushing you off with the same brush he used on 1000 guys before you?

Maybe if colonge and gum was needed, i would drop a buck, but never do these guys get a dime from me. Just let me piss and wash off by myself in peace, i am big enough to do it on my own now.

Has anyone used this guys products before anyway?

The only one I tip is Kiss1, he is a fellow member so I feel obliged. My tip to him, get a real job ya stiff! Luvya Kissee...

Forget the tokes, as Fish and others will tell you, play a 2 team parlay for the sports clerks, lay some numbers and hardways for craps dealers, and place a few chips for croupiers when you're steaming and pressing up.

If you are sitting at a blackjack table, let's assume playing $100 per hand. You stay for 2 hours and make $2,000. how much should you leave as a tip before you leave the table? Should you be tipping during the course of the game? How much?

In craps, if you have a big hand and make $2000 on a roll, then want to leave, what should you leave on the table?

generally, i tip while i play, give the dealers some bets, and at the end if i win, i will throw them another bone. :howdy:

however, i always feel like i am stupid to be overtipping because it is MY MONEY. what do you think?

You answered your own question, do you feel stupid or what? You tip with what you are comfortable tipping. If you are not comfortable with the amount, or feel stupid, then you are. There is no required tip chart, it is all general guidelines. And it should not be based solely on your success, but how you were treated, or taken care of.

Best tipping I viewed was one of Edwin Edwards posse on a craps table at Harrah's. Guy won 90 dimes on one long hand. The dealers, an all women crew did everything to sabotage the roll. Slowed payoffs, he had these stacks of hundreds, on the line and behind, they counted and recounted with every win. The dice flew off the table, player said same dice, they threw them in with the rest. They also paid him in 100 chips, when he was betting dimes. Then they of course run out of 100 chips, and have to get a replenish and count, again freezing the game. After the hand he tips the $5. player who rolled 4 $500 pink chips. He gave the rail nothing. Who could blame him?

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

You left me cold to make this Vegas trip, just like the Disnyland trip. I had to see Cinderella man by myself. Identity, I am just not feeling the love. You got something against FROGS?

Since i dont gamble on anything else, i wouldnt say much about tipping dealers.

But i was under the impression that the general rule of thumb is "DONT TIP THE DEALERS EVER!!!!!"

Only people i tip are the cocktail waitresses (and thats strictly one dollar per drink and thats all. I drink on average about six to 10 drinks at one sitting and will not put up with paying some one 2 bucks per drink!!! thats just silly!!!) If i have drink tickets from the Sports book i will tip 2 bucks every now an then if i am doing well....

I dont tip bathroom attendants in Casinos a dime. I dont even touch anything in the bathroom apart from my zipper, dick and tissue at the water taps..(most of these are automated nowadays so you dont have to touch anything)

I HATE TIPPING DOORMEN ESPECIALLY AT THE STARDUST!!!!! Those morons run a scam at their doors and pretty much waste every ones time with their ridiculous lines to get a cab... Cabs dont even pull up before those clowns blow their whistle...One moron actually walked off the door after seeing me standing waiting for a Taxi...I never forgot his face and will never ever give him a tip in my life.... (He actually once fandangled me a limo to race to the Gold Coast sports book to place a wager with about 20 mins before tip off and i totally stiffed the m'fer!!!! The taxi line had like 20 people in it and the limo ride cost about 40 bucks i think but it was worth it because i was laying 5k at the gold coast where they let you do this on sides in the NBA...I won the game.) Door men i simply cant tip are those guys who run the taxi ramps outside strip clubs. (but thats self explanatory, one should really pick a better spot to usher totally drunk men who spent the whole night looking at ***** they will never get a chance to hit, after paying 8 bucks a drink (at topless titty bars) and are stumbling half dead into the back of a taxi not even sure if they have enough to pay for the trip back to the hotel!!!)

And Fishead must be in the service...You have got to be out of your mind to think that any one should pay even 40% of the cost of my fare to the cabbie as tip money!!! I dont care if he has 13 kids, 2 with polio, one with kwashiorkor, and he needs a kidney transplant!!!!! 3 to 4 bucks is the most i tip depending on the trip.

Man, I tip everybody. I just consider it good karma.

These folks are out doing jobs that (for the most part) I would hate to be doing. If I was in their shoes, i think a nice tip would make my day just a bit brighter.

On a funnier note...my buddy once accused me of trying to tip an ATM machine because it gave me the correct amount of cash.

I once got totally hammered at a rever boat casino in Shreveport. Of course, everytime you turn around in a casino some a-hole is expecting a tip.

We left the casino, piled into a car and ended up at a fast food joint. Talk about doing work that no one esle wants to do?

I remember I left a $2 tip for the hispanic girl who took my order and she nearly flipped out. She was thanking me. She was really greatful for the tip.

I hate tipping. It totally sucks. But my thoughts are this: If you can't stand tipping then stay out of places where they are expected.
