My post has "?" in them. The statements prior to the "?" are what I would liked answered.

If you have a reasonable question, I may may attempt to answer it even though the answer won't be acceptable to you and you'll call me an idiot. In that case, we'll go round and round like always so what's the point really?

why don't you just go ahead and tell his kid what to and what not to believe? this whole thing would go a lot more smoothly.

No shit. Because if stud gave me his wisdom and vision, I could pass that down and we'd all be in a perfect place. He could actually author a book like "Purpose Driven Life Part II, the Stud Edition" and I'm pretty sure it would fly off the shelf.

I don't know what religion I would consider myself. I guess Agnostic if I had to choose....went to a catholic school some family practice buddism and some are christian. I don't go to church and don't know any religion in depth too much.

I do not have kids now but if/when i do, i am considering become a strong believer in something just so my kid will not have the fear of death that I do.

This is....odd. So you can just snap your fingers and start believing in something and that will cure your fears?

Well, my advice is if you are going to force yourself to start believing in something make it something obscure and cool like Druidism or maybe even become a Zoroastrian. Converting to a boring religion like Christianity is for xxxx

Sorry, i don't think I made myself clear....i am considering making my family become a strong believer in something....i don't think i can cure my fears....but i do think i can shove religion down my kid's throat so he won't have the same fear.

I think that you will find that being religious doesn't allay one's fear of death.

I can tell you as a person who is an atheist toward religion and agnostic toward the existence of a supreme being that I am not afraid of death. Not that I want to die, because I don't, but I don't fear it nor do I dwell on it. My only fear is the process of dying, which is a separate issue.
