it wouldnt surprise me to see tiger play well in his 40's . his swing will shorten and he might play a more controlled game.

I'm a Tiger basher, and I was one of those Tiger bashers that gave him his due for putting together that very impressive back nine.
But in the last 24 months give or take, that's all he's got, nine very nice holds, nine crappy holes, one so-so round, and another round of 72 or so.
Until he can put together 70-67-69-68 like he used to, he's going to be in the middle of the leader board, and he hasn't shown he can shoot -7 for 4 rounds like he used to.

This reminds me of Kirk Gibson, a lot, he used to feared four times a game, then he was reduced to pinch hitting, he hit one of the most famous pinch hits in the history of the game, but that's all he was when he hit that homer, a once feared every day hitter reduced to one at bat or less.

I agree with you that he hasn't put 4 rounds together. His C game is good enough to keep him in the top 10 at the majors though, so if he can put 3 good rounds together, he'd have a hell of a chance to win. I dnt know if you've noticed, but in the last year and a half, he has been through quite a bit in his life, divorce, swing change, health problems, and prob most importantly to his golf game, he has been embarrassed in front of the entire world. Give him some time and he will get back to winning, not saying he dominates like he used too, but I think he still has a good run in em

It's still not about his talent. He hasn't all of a sudden lost it. It's his injuries. And knee injuries are serious business when it comes to world class golfers.

My take and many others is he was on Roids for his knee...The torque he put on his knee when he was younger is now coming back to haunt him. The swing change is because his knee cannot put up with the daily grind and he now has to adjust to make it work, which will be hard for him.

He was on 'roids when he won with that broken leg. (it wasn't seriously broken doctors say, but still injured)
Now I kind of believe he was using the 'roids to heal, not so much to get an advantage, but was on 'roids never the less.

Pettitte (the pitcher) was on 'roids for the same reason, to heal an injury, but he'll always carry around that stigma.

the swing change i'm talking about comes naturally.. i personally think he'll be with coach # 4 sometime next year..

I personally think a guy in the kind of shape tiger is in, isnt going to have his swing naturally become shorter until his late late 40's....I dnt think he will give up on foley within the next year either, he said when he first started working with foley he had to commit to the swing change because it was gonna take awhile to get it....u think he starts over within the next year? I highly doubt it.
The swing tiger is learning now, is completely diff from the harmon and haney swings....if he is gonna play in his 40's, foley swing will be what he is swinging. Besides, that swing looked pretty Damn good at the masters

I wish he would show a little humilty and give Butch Harmon a call and tell him he wants back. Even Hank Haney wouldn't be bad. But I still believe Harmon was the best coach for Tiger. I don't think he should be blamed for Tiger's leg injury. I think that's something that was going to happen regardless of his coach or swing.

Those guys would be good for tiger...but he can't swing like that anymore if he wants to play very long

Butch Harmon has two brothers who are just as good of swing coaches as he is. His brother Billy Harmon is known for working with senior golfers. And unlike Butch and Hank Haney, he is a fun guy that has a sense of humor. Something that Tiger probably needs right now. The Harmon's are proven winners. Especially when it comes to winning Majors. This new coach of Tiger's isn't.

I think Harmon would help him greatly as well....But he will never do it, as it has to be tigers way or no way.

I'm no Tiger hater but I just think his glory days are over. Players now can outdrive him and He can't putt.He hasn't won a Major in 3 years now and it's going on 2 years since He's won any tourney. He's dropping out of the top 10. Of course fools will continue to make him a favorite but that only makes for some great wagering oppurtunities. You can feel free to bump this thread up when He wins one but I'm not too concerned about being embarrassed anytime soon.
