He did it 0 for 47 ! , Longest hitless streak ever, it goes along well with his lowest batting average EVER for a guy that qualifies for the batting title ( 502 at bats or something like that) .168, shattering that record by about a dozen points. Since he plays for the Oreos, they might as well just continue letting him play.

Worst contract ever by a kilometer !

How long should they wait to bench him?

No point in benching him, release the guy, DFA, whatever and bring up whatever you have in the minors unless you don't think they're close to ready, then just go with Davis, your team will finish last no matter what you do, or at very best maybe a miracle prayer of 4th place. It's just comical from a 53 homers, 138 rbi guy not that long ago to this !

Maybe he can next break Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak with a 57 AB antihitting streak ?

Would be awesome if he went the entire year and didnt get a hit,. Then fed up with all the criticism, he tweets out his bank balance. Isnt that how it is done these days?

After a nice solid 0 for 5 game , I believe that makes it 0 for 49. $23,000,000 a year or something in that area just doesn't buy you what it once did... like maybe an entire team ? If the Oreos were remotely close to contending this bum would have been gone in some manner a year ago
This could well be a record that stands for eternity.

These long mega contracts almost never work for the club

This guy led the majors in HRs in 2013 and 2015. I'm really pulling for him. Maybe tomorrow he goes 2-4 or something. Os face a lefty in Oakland tomorrow

Looks like Davis didn't play today. Probably cause a lefty was going for Oakland and he bats left

Give me 44 at bats,at 58 now and near death,I'll get 1 fluky hit rxb@ll

I rather doubt that, especially if you say you're " near death" I'll assume you're exaggerating a bit, unless you're a guy that played at least at the AA level in other words a guy that has some experience as a player, any MLB pitcher would destroy you.it's kinda like thinking you could go a round with a pro boxer and have zero experience, the pro could easily knock you out in 20 seconds

The first thing that strikes you if how deep the infield really is. You could easily get solid contact and it be a light line drive to short.

Contact with the ball? Hell yes but an actual base hit is something else.

And at 58, no chance in hell. I would say decent contact with the ball at 20%. Not to mention have you ever in your life faced a 92 mph fastball followed by a 12-6 curve? Just when you think you have it down here comes the slider on the corner for strike 3.

Half the Rx couldn't get a MLB hit if it were T ball

Yeah great one an average Joe would get destroyed by a pro in any sport, and get hurt too ! The pitcher has enough control to throw the ball in a certain portion of the strike zone, you could expect to get one somewhere around your head at some point.

You think you could a round for $1,000,000 with a guy like a Mike Tyson in his prime ( or even now) he'd take pleasure in punishing you, you'd never touch him.

I could go 1 for 58.
went to an 80MPH batting cage a few weeks ago and made easy contact .
I could luck into a few hits in 58 at bats

I really cant believe what I reading in a sports betting forum, that people think they could hit a major league pitcher.

What is so hard to believe about someone who played high level high school baseball and faced future mlb pitchers like Gill Meche thinking he can go 1 for 58?

That would be like a coach putting me into an NBA game and saying that I could eventually hit a 3 pointer if they let me shoot enough .
Not exactly bragging saying you can go 1 for 58

Best chance would be bunting

or not swing until you got a change up.

there are high school pitchers out there that never make it past single a ball that post a .046 ERA in high school meaning
no one could hit them in high school.

from the pics I have seen of some rx’ers I don’t see it. I suppose 1 our of 15 rxers could get 1 hit out of 58 at bats over 30 days. Take about 10 at bats to get used to the velocity and movement.

yes getting a basket in an nba game is completely different especially if you are a shooter. If you are a shooter you are generally always a shooter. Del curry could still go out there and knock down open jumpers. Some of us could beat nba players in horse of its simply straight shooting

I want to bet large marge that he could go a round with a 22 year old mike Tyson. I think he could do it

Davis goes 0-1 today as a pinch hitter. Maybe they start him again tomorrow

At 0 for 50 and the record set, I now root for the guy to finally get a mercy hit. I wouldn't want the guy to off himself over this, I do have a heart

Pretty sure the team has brought in a sports psychologist by now..especially considering the amount of money they have invested in him. Both to help with his confidence and to make sure he's ok
