yes, both those plays were very good value plays (lunacy line in the doubles), very bad luck in both for you especially Henin, not coverting two match points. Nice calls on Canas, Novak as large plays.

fantastic tournament for you, congrats!!......

Thanks hope.

New tournaments now but I will keep em in this thread. I would chance the title but I don't know if it is possible.

Anyway to the the more important things. Watched some matches and this seems for me pretty good.

I.Karlovic - B.Benneteau -127 7/10
They are playing at Houston on green clay which is very fast and hardcourt players have been very strong there, like Roddick who usually is not very strong on clay. You could say neither of these players likes to play on clay but Benneteau has been very bad lately and his service game has been missing and if it is like it has been this should be easy for Karlovic. Karlovic retired his matches at Sunrise and Miami which might be my biggest concern. In qualies Becker lost for Montanes who is pure clay player and because this surface is like hard I think it was very bad result for him and before that he had straight losses for Hernych, Falla and Kim. Karlovic won Sweeting in two sets and lost for Tursunov clearly. I think this might be the only "clay" court where Tursunov likes to play because he usually hates slow surfaces.

For today:

A.Rezai - V.Dushevina -245 10/10
Rezai had pretty good previous year but this year is so far 1-8. Her first match 2007 was against Emily Hewson which she won and after that she has lost for Fedak, Loit, Vaidisova, Jankovic, Schnyder, Molik, Bychkova and V.Williams. I don't know if she has some problems or has she any problems but her results are bad compared to Dushevina who came trough qualies.
S.Peng - B.Zahavova Strykova +295 2/10

For tuesday:

A.Delic - R.Kendrick -178 3/10

Ivo is playign Benjamin today.

gl with the play, I like it for what's its worth.

Yes, Benjamin Becker is his opponent and I ment him. Believe or not I have been mixing with names of these two players for a longer time. Just don't know why because these names does not even sound to be close. It might be because of Becker's first name and Julien's last name...Benjamin Benneteau...LOL. Many mistakes in writings today from me and only wishing I have selected the games more conscientiousnesly.

Karlovic had pretty easy win but Rezai was absolutely a big surprise for me.

I.Karlovic - B.Becker -127 7/10 WON +5,51

S.Peng - B.Zahavova Strykova +295 2/10 LOST -2,00

For tuesday:

S.Grosjean - D.Hartfield +129 9/10
I see a huge letdown for Grosjean in this match. He played two 5 set Davis Cup matches and is travelling now a long trip. I have not seen his matches but he was not so good in doubles and in his win over Andreev he played badly at start but started to fight and won the match. Hartfield has played well in USA on clay (16-3) but if you look at his results he has not beaten any big names recently and I think he is a bit underrated. You can suppose almost anything from Grosjean and he might try to do his best because he is not playing in Monte Carlo at next week but I think he has no fighting spirit left for this match and odds should should be something like +120 for Grosjean imo.

These players are right now on qualifying entry list to Monte Carlo and this is not the final list because some players might not take part and so on but I would be very careful when playing their matches because some of them might prefer qualies over their current tournament.

1 Vliegen, Kristof BEL 49
2 Massu, Nicolas CHI 50
3 Volandri, Filippo ITA 52
4 Mirnyi, Max BLR 53
5 Kohlschreiber, Philipp GER 59

good info, thks for sharing.

difficult to understand why Grosjean is here. However, if he does show up I expect a full effort. Why make the trip unless? He could have pulled out after Davis Cup action and stayed on European soil.

gl

ps., Vera also hurt me today. Good win for Rezai, she's a LOT BETTER player than she has shown ytd--hits a HEAVY ball.

I might be wrong about this and I am not 100% sure about entry and withdraw system either but Grosjean was on alternates list to Monte Carlo so withdraw was easy. If you are on main draw you will have to inform the tournament two weeks before the start if you are not coming unless you become injured. If you have not informed two weeks before and you are not injured you will get some penalties. Ok this is one possibility but I think he would have informed about this because he knew his situation. Some years ago withdrawning was not so easy. I have no example but I have heard some stories. Some players just came to lose one game to the tournament because withdrawning without penalties was almost impossible.

Other possibility is he has promised to come there and does not want to break his promise and comes but not so seriously or maby he has a girlfriend there :)

The only thing we know for sure is that he had two long matches on clay and emotional DC-win at weekend, a long trip and maby he plays like he has nothing to lose and gives his all. I would love some inside infomation in this case but after all I think Hartfield definitely has his chances to win the match but honestly said without Grosjean's DC-matches I probably would not touch into this match with these odds.

Fingers crossed.

Odds for Hartfield are rising, not a good sign.

M.Zabaleta - R.Sweeting +264 1/10
F.Volandri - I.Andreev -148 2/10
Volandri should be happy about the start of the clay season because of his serve is so weak but he has had bigger problems and Andreev has been good here in the past.

They have moved Grosjean Hartfield match for wednesday. This should favour Grosjean because he gets more time to rest and this bet is beginning to feel not so good anymore.

E.Gulbis - J.C.Ferrero +380 2/10
Gulbis had DC-match on carpet so moving to clay is not the best move right now. Ferrero has showed some better signs but he has been mentally weak after his injuries 2004 and this might be big year for Gulbis and his possibilities are better. Gulbis has not a bad serve, he is tall and is moving well as far I know. This court should suit for Ferrero (13-3) but he is nowadays a player who you can not trust so I am playing against him in his first match at this tournament.

yep, he must have requested. At that low line, not surprising steady flow of monies on Sebastien. That said, Hartfield is not useless on this surface and on his day certainly has the goods to take Grosjean---as he did Almagro at Stuttgrut a yr ago

poor showing by Andreev so far, hopefully he rallies.

I kept the stake low because Andreev had DC-match before this which apparently was too much for him. Anyway you just must love these claycourt matches. Andreev was leading 4-1 in the second set and after that Volandri was leading 5-4 and in the tiebreak same thing, from 4-1 to 4-5 Game ended for Volandri 6-4 7-6(8).

Hartfield now -137. It might be because Grosjean travelled lately to Houston but I am not so sure about that. Nice you got it BetIt. The only thing we need now is Hartfield to win.

Russell - Spadea -156 8/10
This has been very popular play today and odds have came down and I can understand why. Russell is on fire and even if Spadea won Ginepri he should be not in 100% fit.

I will update the record after the games of today.
