The Panthers have a chance to win this game outright let alone cover the number. Carolina QB Kyle Allen is playing exceptional football and taking care of the ball as well, with seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. Running back Christian McCaffrey is doing it all, and I like the way the Panthers match up against the 49ers defense. The Carolina defense has been tough as well, and the Panthers sack the QB among the best in the NFL. San Francisco QB Jimmy Garoppolo does not like pressure, period. He has just seven touchdown passes and six interceptions on the season. Take the points with the Panthers.

I like fading the undefeated 49ers in this spot, where I think their middle-of-the-road offense will have issues against a Carolina defense that has been stellar all year. It's a bad spot for the 49ers with a road Thursday game up next, while the Panthers are in a great spot as an away team coming off a bye, a trend that has cashed 59.7% of the time since 2011. Christian McCaffrey should have some success against a 49ers defense that's better against the pass than the run, and that'll help them stay in a close game and cover the number.

I don't think there's a defense in the NFL that can stop Christian McCaffrey for a full 60 minutes. However, there are a few defenses capable of slowing him down, and the 49ers are one of them. San Francisco is going to force Kyle Allen to beat them with weapons other than Run CMC, and he can't.
