:hahahahahThat play wasn't originally a GOY. When I state that I haven't lost a CFB GOY I am referring to an original GOY and not one that is upped last minute.
But, if you would like we will call that a loss. Keep searching because you wont find another one of those or one that was an ORIGINAL GOY.
GL Stew, will be on AUB as well.
Think AUB will use multiple "D" fronts like CAL did? Or fake injuries to slow down their "O"? One or two made FG's for CAL, and this gm wouldn't be happening.
Thats a great stat find, also look at Thomas running for 5 yds per carry to Cam Newton's 5.1 yds per carry. One thing people aren't giving enough credit to is Darrin Thomas who is damn good in his own right. One thing to consider as well...take a look at the QB passing numbers for the season:
Oregon: Thomas
195/321 2518 yds 28 TD
Auburn: Newton
165/246 2589 yds 28 TD
Wow. Talk all you want about the quality of competition each team faced, but that's about as close as you can get when comparing two QBs.
One thing people overlook is Auburn's defense actually sucks...it's their secondary, specifically. But Oregon doesn't attack teams in the air as much as they do with their option.
To me, this just seems like the kind of game neither team will ever be out of. I'll be on the Oregon ML...just think their offense is a little bit better than Auburn's as a whole.

Todd McShay brought up a good, albeit very logical point, when he was asked who he'd pick in the game.. He said the best offensive player in this game is Newton, and the best defensive player is Fairley.. Would be hard to go against the team that has the best on both sides... Also, Fairley has to be doubled almost every play which will free up linebackers to plug holes and contain the edge. That being said, I still don't know what to expect!
McShay is looking at the game from the perspective of an NFL scout, which I think is unfortunate, because just because Auburn might have the best prospect on either side of the ball, that isn't indicative of the unit top to bottom. In fact, Oregon offense is ranked one, Auburn is seven. Oregon defense is ranked 25, Auburn is ranked 55. So his thinking I do believe is a bit tainted.
