Had a chance to watch the new documentary SICKO by Michael Moore, (yeah I know he has his own opinions, but any educated person can read between the lines) and man o man ... I gotta thank god I don't live in the US.
How you guys/gals can go about your daily business/lives, and not do anything about this is just mind blowing. Politics and big business rule over the American people with a iron fist.
How someone can spend millions of dollars a day on military spending, but deny it's people with simple heath care is just so wrong.
How do you do it ? Can't imagine paying $50,000+ or more for tests or surgery that I may need.
So to hell with all the small businesses in this country that can't afford to give their employees health care? Refuse to work for them.
So if you have 2 kids, you would choose to work in a small business over a government job?
People with no kids could afford health insurance working for a small business if they cut back on shit like cell phones. people with families should have made better life choices before having kids so they wouldn't be forced to live on minimum wage working in a restaurant.
So the kids who are put in that situation (poor family) should live in poverty and without healthcare? I think some of us forget how much college costs. So if you cannot afford college, more then likely you wont get a job with healthcare benefits, and therefore should live in debt. Please explain how you deal with this...
That's not true. If you cut out having a cell phone, you now could afford health insurance? To have real coverage you have to spend $400 a month. I know.
I'll give you an example of someone who's not ready for a family working in a restaurant. (making decent money) A friend of mine is 27 years old and she has a job working as a waitress. She moves in with her new boyfriend 6 months ago. Three months after, she finds out she has breast cancer. Of course she has no insurance, but because of his job, she's luckily somehow covered completely. $90,000 in insurance bills in a month!! If she wasn't covered, she'd be paying that off for the rest of her life. It's not right. We're not talking about giving everyone welfare.
The world needs waitresses.
Fat tony just gave a great example... please explain how to solve that problem
They should have worked harder in school. This is the land of the free not the hand of the handouts. Why don't we just pay for everyones medical and buy them food and TV's and Cable and cell phones.
go to a poor town and you will see everyone with cell phones, yet they somehow can't afford to pay for healthcare. What a joke.
First off, how hot is she? IF she is real hot then maybe i would agree.
Second, i stand by my point that it doesn't take much effort to either find a job that covers your health care or to make enough to cover it yourself. And i am not saying that cutting your cell phone alone would be enough to get your health insurance but i am sure i could find enough waste in most peoples lives to find enough cash for health insurance. I know it wouldn't be easy for alot, but why should i work hard to make good money so that other people can have it easy?
Just because you say its a great example does not make it a great example. First off, i have a problem with someone that is 27 and a waitress. Second, i have a problem with a waitress that can't pull together a couple of hundred bucks a month. Maybe its 400 for some, but i am pretty sure you can get basic healtcoverage for less.
I just don't understand why i have to pay for the health coverage of a 27 year old girl who was not previously disabled.
