Apr 05 969 MIN TWINS [B. DUENSING -L] +187 o8½-120 +1½-115
7:10 PM 970 NY YANKEES [C. SABATHIA -L] -205 u8½EV -1½-105

Sabathia has been lights out vs the Twins. Last two regular season starts ,16 innings, 1 run. The bats cooled down a bit last night, Arod,Posada had big flys , Tex didn't get much to hit and just missed one , Cano and Jeter both hit the ball hard. Swish and Martin look comfortable at the dish as well. The only guy i can see is really struggling is gardner, who was robbed of a 2 rbi double by Young. For the the Yanks pitching, the formula is simple folks, get 6 innings from your starter, let Joba, robertson, Soriano and Mo, do their thing. They are tough and showed it tonight.

The twins seem lost at the dish. Mauer, Morneau and D.Young off to terrible starts, bats looked slow tonight. Duensing is a decent lefty, with a small sampling against the Yanks 7-25. 280 BA, 6bb, 5 runs. I see this one being a low scoring game, 4-2 type game, I am not a believer in taking favorites at -205, so i won't be one the Yankees. Waiting for the line to come out , but I like the Under 1H and under 8.5 for the game. Duensing will stump the Yanks the first couple times around, CC will do the same.

3-1 ytd leans

Under is probably the way to go.. I'm just leery of Sabathia.

Usually hate betting Twins when go against a LHP.

I'm still going to bet something on the Twins @ +197

James McDonald going for the Pirates today, if it wasnt for some stiffness in his side during spring training he probably would have been the Pirates Opening Day starter. After the trade last yr with the Dodgers(Dotel) McDonald started 11 games and had a 3.52 Era and struckout 61 in 64 innings, he pitched once against the Cardinals and went 6 strong giving up one run and striking out 7. I think there is decent value with the Buccos if he comes back completely healthy.

Also the Cards have McClellan getting his first start, usually he comes out of the pen, he looks to have decent stuff so I may give the Under 8.5 a look also.

Follow the Phillies every game. If their is a spot where they are vulnerable as a big favorite it is tonight. Rain is in the area so a ppd is possible but it looks like it will clear tonight for the game. I had them every game against Houston but tonight I'm on the Mets. Not sure about Hamels right now so thats what I'm betting on. Also the Marlins will be my largest play tonight. GL. Keep riding the Baltimore train.. They are $$$ right now.

Gotta agree here. I'm going to leave the Bucs alone for a few weeks as they always seem to give the fans a false sense of hope every year early on. They were actually 14-16 last year before playing like who they are.

I know, I get the false sense of hope every year. I have watched 3 out of the 4 games and the only one I missed was the one Meek blew. This is the first year in a while that I felt like the Pirates had a lineup that could do some damage, I think that this could be a year like 97 where they stay in it a little longer but eventually fade in July or Aug. I think Hurdle has put a little confidence in them and the fact that he was out of the dugout arguing calls in the Cubs series 3 times was probably 3 times more than all the yrs Russell was in the dugout. I guess we will see but I still like the value with McDonald going today.

I have a good feeling on the Brewers today as well gyno. Gallardo will have a great game and I think it is a great bounce back spot for them after a tough one yesterday, feels like a good spot at that price.

STL game is an interesting one, it all rests on McDonald's start which I am having a hard time having any idea what that will be. STL usually performs well in a bounce back at home so I am taking a small shot on the RL at +155 but I am not that excited about it. I do think McClelland will be good and if I had more on McDonald I might try the under but he is nursing a side injury so I will wait.

I am on the D'backs and Astros also. I really love Happ at that price, especially against Leake. Cubs won't have a great pen today, bad spot for them to be -140 with Cashner IMO.

Good luck today everyone.

METFAN REPORTING FOR DUTY..

METS..
METS HAVE DOWN WELL AGAINST HAMELS BECAUSE THEY HATE HIS SMUG GUTS..Problem for me is i would have preferred Capuano in this spot to neutralize Ryan Howard...If chris young doesn't implode this has all the makings of a good spot for the mets and perhaps their best chance in this series

plays:
$50 ea
METS first 5 +170
METS +1.5 RUNS -130 FOR GAME

YANKS..
YANKS throw their #1 starter against Minny's #5..looks like a sacrifice to me...
$100:
YANKS RL -1.5 -115

GOOD LUCK:toast:

Weather has cooled down here in NY, and rain has moved in, pretty moderate right now. Should be a cold and wet one at the stadium tonight. Liking the under 4.5 1H and under 8.5 for the game.

boston..... even with the slow start and a questionable beckett on the hill, they have too much offense. wind looks like its blowing out to right, right center which should help this heavy lefthanded team. also, i am not a fan of playing any "chase" systems, but if there was a time to do it, i think it would start tonight. although anything is possible, i really cant see the sox getting swept by this cleveland team. beckett didnt have a good spring, but picthed great his final outing at houston( for what that is worth).. being able to grab the sox at -150 to -160, with thier offense, against a subpar indian team is a decent bet...gl!!

Rangers Record: 1-0

Two righties throwing tonight. Both young, Seattle pitcher making his debut and supposed to be pretty good. It's going to take a go through before Texas will be able to get a feel for him. Plus, wind is blowing in - will make a hard time for lefties to go yard and hang the ball up.

Under 8.5 in the Ranger game.

i'm not entirely sure how objective this opinion is, however, Brewers should pull this one out tonight. ATL owns them at home, however MIL is putting their ace on the mound after an 0-4 start. sprinkle in the first home game @ night and I see MIL picking up their first W. plus -115 with Gallardo on the mound at home is a deal IMO.
