~Patriots Host Colts~ [Brady is poised to lead the Patriots to yet another Super Bowl appearance]

The key to a Colts’ win is ball possession and their rushing attack. With Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner lurking in the secondary, the Colts must find other ways to move the ball down the field. While Indianapolis deserves credit for beating Denver and advancing to the conference championship, the Colts gave up six receptions and 53 yards to Broncos tight Julius Thomas, who has dealt with an ankle injury for weeks. Colts defense has played well, though, shutting down Manning and the Broncos for only 211 passing yards and one touchdown. Add in the fact that Indianapolis held Dalton and Cincinnati’s offense to just 155 yards and zero touchdowns passing, and Brady will be facing one of the hottest defensive units in the league. I don’t think the Patriots will crush the Colts 42-20 like they did in Week 11, but I’m predicting them to win.Gronkowski has proven to be a difficult match-up for most NFL teams, and the Colts are no exception. Gronk has 11 catches and three touchdowns in his last two games against the Colts defense, including going 4 for 5 for 71 yards and a score this season. He also made a catch against four different defenders covering him: Vontae Davis, Mike Adams, D’Qwell Jackson and Sergio Brown. An important aspect of the game will be if the Patriots can capitalize off of Indianapolis’s propensity to give away the football. They currently rank 29th in the league with 1.9 turnovers per game. Keep an eye on New England to turn it up a notch during the second quarter, when they average a league-best 11.4 points per game. Brady’s experience in big games will be his biggest edge, and the offensive players around him will step up when needed the most. As well as the Colts have played this postseason, Brady is poised to lead the Patriots to yet another Super Bowl appearance. My prediction: Colts 27, Patriots 35

Green Bay, although typically above average offensively are likely to struggle both on the ground and through the air, because of Seattle’s excellent defense. Expect Rodgers to work mainly out of shotgun and pistol formations, like he did in the Cowboys game. According to ESPN Stats & Information Research, Rodgers ran every play out of the shotgun or pistol except for the Packers’ three kneel downs.I think Seattle is better than they were last year at this point and Green Bay is ripe for the picking. Seattle will stuff the run and scheme to move Rodgers to expose his lack of mobility. Lynch sees plenty of success on the ground and Wilson hits the few key throws that turn into daggers for Green Bay’s chances. Green Bay actually lost to Seattle, Detroit, New Orleans and Buffalo this season. They only beat Miami and Minnesota by 3 points on the road, 27 to 24 versus Miami and 24 to 21 versus Minnesota. Green Bay just isn’t the same team at home that they are on the road. He completed 24 of 35 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns, but he clearly was limited by the injury. Seattle has home field advantage in this one and no matter what Green Bay Coach Mike McCarthy says; Rodgers should not be at 100% by this Sunday. Although the betting line is above a touchdown and extra point, Seattle is the my pick to cover the spread in the NFC Championship Game. Over the previous six NFL seasons, the home team has won 69% of games that match the current efficiency profiles of Green Bay and Seattle going into a game, the equivalent of a handicap start of 6 points for Green Bay. My prediction odds currently give the Seahawks a 75.36% chance of winning on the money line, and they are -7.5 on the spread. It is a big number but Seattle gets out of this game with a 30-20 win or something like that.

The only way you make money is if both win...professional handicappers do not bet this way (not to mention playing these huge ML favs in the first place). Is that 68% including giant ML favorites? If so, it's not really giving people a true picture of your record. Also, a lot of the "press bets" that I saw during the season weren't noted as such until afterwards...

Just in case you did not know, Bob Martin was the King, the guru of NFL handicapping and the most amazing line maker for all Books and casinos in Nevada and across the US. No embellishment here, He was the original expert of diagnosing NFL football games and hanging those famous "curve lines" out from the plaza. He's practically a legend in that regard.

Harry the Hat, an expert and professional himself, was a colleague of Bob's and most likely has forgotten more than most will know in a lifetime.

Hoping that will help you understand why Harry and his associates with all that experience and their knowledge, (along with the karma that flows) are so successful and profitable making a living at NFL Handicapping.

I would say we are very fortunate that he takes time to bother with us and share his insights. I would hope you would ask him questions about the strategy he uses and how to be a better and smarter player rather than knock him.
