Eden Prairie, MN – Vikings QB Brett Favre has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 3rd time this season, the most times he has been recognized in a season in his 19-year career. Favre threw for 316 yards and 4 TDs in Sunday’s win against the NY Giants. He tied a team record with his 6th 300-yard passing game of the season and became only the 3rd Vikings QB to break 4,000 yards passing in a season.
Favre has been named either NFC or AFC Offensive Player of the Week 16 times in his career. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week 11 times as a Packer, earned the AFC award 2 times in 2008 with the Jets and 3 times as a Viking in 2009. The award is the 6th NFC Player of the Week recognition earned by a Viking in 2009, 4 of those on offense.
