And should add that week 17 was Holmgren gift to Favre in what at the time was probally Favre last game. The point spread pretty much tells what was going to happen in this game (packers -6).

Seattle had already clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Everyone knew the Seattle starters were not playing.

With a new coach, a relatively healthy team, a great draft..............the Packers may/should be one of the favs to win this years SuperBowl.

The beginning of the end was losing to the dome-team Falcons at Lambeau in the cold in 2002.
Bye bye Lambeau mystique.
Favre was 20/42 with 2 picks and a rating of 54.4.

Well i didn't think he had 20 carries 14 yards...they really had to abandon the run very early, very often.

Obvious Fish is a die-hard cheese-head. Sure hope you grab some of those high price futures on the packers.

Yea...I was pointing out how little they ran the ball as a team in that game. I can't remember seeing a team only run the ball 14 times in an NFL game.

the only thing good about GB last year is their defense played better than what was expected. was one of the better in the league. Their offensive line was god awful and is again this year, their running backs all got hurt, their QB had most turnovers of his career, receivers were tipping balls left and right to the other team...Another 3 or 4 win season on the horizon for GB for the same reasons this year.

GB had many many losses by less than 6 pts last year...take a tipped int or fumble away and they have 10 wins

That is a useless stat in pro football. I live in Detroit and we hear that all the time. A loss is a loss period. In pro football a huge % of gmes are decided by less than a touchdown. So after the year they had and Farve getting worse and older at the sametime you think they are going to spring back to what they were years ago. Not a chnce they have 2 wins for sure this year against the lions.

Good research Clip..

When you look back at GB , they had so many games they just barely lost early in the season, they could have easily been 5-1 instead of 1-5 ...

Momentum is everything in sports , his supporting cast was awful, had they had all their players it really may have been all differnt....once it got to the point they were out of it Favre started making really poor decisions, you have to admit that his talent around him was not there?

And look at the leadng rusher stats, 3 games with a 100 yard back...and most games the back had 50 yards, that is impossible to win with that kind of running game...especially at his age, with no one to throw to.

Look back at the first Minnesota game and ther Carolina game, they put up a lot of points with no running game at all losing to Carolina 32-29 and the top rusher had 36 yards, I think that was the MNF game where they came all the way back to just barely lose.

Momentum does not exist. Please try to explain to me how it does. And if it is so easy to gain momentum than that lowers the value of it. I hate hate hate that phrase when anouncers use it. They don't know what they are talking about. Momentum is something you have when going downhill on a bike. Not in sports. Might have to make a thread about this. It could be a good discussion.

Was replying sarcastically to CLIPS posts.

Although, this PACKER team has great potential in the coming year.

AGAIN, a LOT is riding on the home opener against Chicago................and my be a telling a sign for this team for the remainder of the year............good or bad.

Four years from now, or sooner, believe one will look back and see that the PACK had an outstanding draft in 2006

For beginners, AJ HAWK and ABDUL HODGE were stud linebackers in the BIG TEN for 3+ years..............and this kid JENNINGS at WR looks like a really solid player.

Jennings dropped four passes in the time I watched last night. Going from the MAC to Brett Favre too.

Fish - I agree with your statement about GB's first game. It is their season. Bears will blitz him to death. Bears are very beaten up on D right now.

actually Green Bay sucks...Favre is just as good as anyone else they could put out there...their offensive liine is just plain terrible...2 rookies starting at guard...long year for whoever is QBing that team. Favre's interceptions last year were almost always tipped balls off receiver's hands and anyone who has played football knows that's not the QB's fault.

WELL SAID VIKE- He went on to win the division in 2007 for the Pack anf they trade him (HMMM)....

NFC NORTH CHAMPS. Your 11-2 Green Bay Packers clinched the NFC Central Divisional title with todays ass whooping of the Oakland Raiders.

And may in 2009
