Bruins ML (-140), 4 units- I think the Hurricanes are done. Their coach sounded like he didn't know where to turn after game 4. Halak can't play worse in this game then he did last game. If the Bruins can finish a couple chances and get an early lead, Carolina could fold like a cheap suit. I think the Bruins finish it off today and move on to round 2.

Canadiens/Flyers under 5 (-120), 2 units- Maybe these two teams come out and find the back of the net. But they haven’t scored more then 5 goals in a game and they only have combined for more then 3 goals in one. I think Philly closes it out, but I feel better about the under. Montreal could win a low scoring game since they play them so often. GL

Adding:
Blues ML (-145), 2 units- It seems to me that the Blues are wearing the Canucks down. You would have thought the young legs for Vancouver would have been fresher in game 4 in the second of a back to back and taken it to go up 3-1. The Blues appear to be in Vancouver’s head to some extent and their playoff experience is coming through.
The Bruins series bet win will be included in my record tomorrow. I will be interested to see what the series price is for Lightning/Bruins if the Flyers and Islanders close things out.

Flames ML (+105), 3 units- This series has been back and forth throughout. Every game has been a one goal game except for game 3 which was 2-0. These two teams are very even and I expect Calgary to empty the bucket tonight and force a game 7.

Islanders ML (-110), 2 units- I think the Islanders will complete the gentleman's sweep tonight and take care of business. I have my series play on the Islanders and would like them to close things out tonight before any doubt starts to creep into their minds. They have been the better team for the majority of this series and I am anticipating they close it out in five.

Flyers/Canadiens under 5 (-120), 2 units- The Flyers have scored 8 goals in the first five games of this series, yet they have won 3 of 5. It seems clear that their path to victory is playing a low scoring, grind it out type of game. Ten of the Flyers lasts eleven games have gone under. I think last game was an aberration and both goalies will show up big tonight.
I included my Islanders series win in my record and units above. I'm going to take some time and look into this Canucks/Blues game. If I have a play I will post it later. GL

Canucks to Win the Series (+255), 2 units- I think there is some real value here. The Canucks really impressed me in their win over St. Louis. They could have easily gotten worn down and felt the pressure when the series got tied up 2-2. Instead they came out and scored ten goals in the next two games and closed it out in six. I think they are going to cause problems for Vegas with their speed and the confidence that they are clearing playing with. Vegas is a good team and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they won the series. But they had some shaky moments against Chicago and they should not be 3 to 1 favorites in this series. Give me the Canucks to pull the upset.
Islanders to Win the Series (+110), 2 units- I'm sticking with the Islanders in this matchup. They are really playing well and I think are the better team here. I respect Philly's toughness and I like Hart in net. But just like he had back to back shutouts in their last series, he also had two games where he gave up 5 goals to a Montreal team that isn't exactly rife with offensive talent. The Islanders will be a much bigger test for Hart and Varlamov has been very solid in net. He has a .934 save percentage with a 1.67 GAA. New York is playing with a ton of confidence and I think they are the better team in this series.
A couple quick thoughts on the other two series. Colorado is the better team and should advance, but I don't want to lay -250 to -270. I like Dallas as a sleeper team and may have been tempted to take a shot on them. But I didn't like their coach's comments after their series win against Calgary. He was talking about how teams are struggling in the bubble and how challenging it is. I think he was talking about his own team and didn't want to call them out. If Dallas is lacking the mental toughness heading into this series, they have no chance.
The Bruins/Lightning series is a toss up. I may have given the Bruins a slight edge with Rask, now I see a slight edge to Tampa without him. And the bookmakers agree as I see the Lightning are -120 in the series. I thought they would be in the -140 to -170 range and if they were, I probably would have taken Boston. But I would rather bet on individual games of the series versus the series as a whole. Both teams have a lot of skill on offense and strong defenseman. I would say Tampa is probably the more talented team, but they also have a propensity to come up short in the postseason. This should be a great series to watch and I am looking forward to it.
I may have a play on the Dallas/Colorado game later once I look into it a little deeper.

Avalanche -1.5 (+140), 2 units- I went back and forth a little bit between wanting to bet the Stars ML and betting the Avalanche -1.5. A case could be made that Arizona made Colorado look a little better then they are and Dallas should give them a tougher series. But I think there is a chance Dallas hasn't fully recovered from a tough series with Calgary and Colorado will catch them a bit flat footed tonight. This is a big step up in class for Dallas going from a second tier team like Calgary to arguably the best team in the west or even the league in Colorado. I think it takes them a game to adjust and Colorado gets it done tonight. I like the plus money on the puck line and will take a stab. GL

Maybe I should start believing in Dallas. I have liked them as a sleeper, but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on a series bet. Even right now after winning game 1 they are +115 to win the series, which is great value for a team up 1-0. I will have a play on the Bruins game later, but I think the line is going to move in my favor so I'm waiting on that.
