People hung up too much on losses. This is not the NFL. OOC schedules matter becuase the schools make up the OOC schedules. It should matter. The argument should not be about how many losses but wins. If it is all about losses then there is no incentive to schedule good OOC games ( See Alabama). If the only arguement is losses then is OSU scheduled Youngstown State instead of Oklahoma, OSU would be in the playoff.
As fans, we should demand better and the committee should reward teams that play tough OOC schedules and punish teams who play FCS schools. The message the committee would send to OSU if left out would be if you played Youngstown State you would be in the playoffs. The message should be to Alabama is that if you played another P5 team you would have been in the playoffs. There should be a rule, if you are an elite team and want to compete for national titles, stop scheduling FCS schools. It would be best for the fans of college football.
