I know lots of waiters/bartenders and they all overtip. Its like a small community of them and they just throw the money back and forth to each other as they all go to the same places

I should probably clarify my poop/piss comments (spitting happend multiple times). Poop only happened once and the guy was a grade A asshole. Mixed it in with the hamburger. We were a little drunk on the job (I know story gets better). Piss twice that I know of mixed in with mountain dew.

Like I said not something I'm proud of but it is what it is. Young and dumb.

Side note, last time I was at PF Changs started talking to the waiter about tips, who rents the back room and he said 2 nights before P Diddy or whatever his name is now rented out the room with 20 people and tipped $50 total. Waiter could get fired for telling me that but said the bill was huge and that's all he tipped. Also he was a huge DICK too. Not surprising really

Haha...aw dude, that is still so disgusting.

Tipping isn't mandatory

It isn't mandatory that anyone receives service from a waitstaff. If a low income family can't afford 20%, whatever money they are spending while still stiffing the server is far beyond their means

I hate when they provide minimum, crappy service; still expect a 20% + tip; do not understand that is for excellent service.

MADISON, Ind. — A former waitress at a southern Indiana restaurant has admitted she inflated tip amounts by as much as $80.
Thirty-six-year-old April Royalty pleaded guilty to 23 counts of felony theft this week in Jefferson Circuit Court. As part of a plea agreement, her four-year prison sentence was ordered to be served in community corrections.
The Madison Courier reports Royalty admitted she falsified tip amounts of 23 patrons at Crystal & Jules restaurant in the Ohio River city of Madison.
The judge also ordered Royalty to pay more than $600 in restitution. Prosecutor Chad Lewis says he is looking for customers who are due a refund.
The restaurant’s owner contacted police after two customers complained their tips had been altered.

I always hate tipping the pizza delivery guy. I feel obligated too since I will be ordering again and worry if they put something in their computer that I did not tip and do something crazy to my pizza.

I don't mind tipping waitresses for food though. Kind of a demeaning job/ low paying. I tip people for drinks but think it is pointless if I order a $3.50 beer and they turn around, pick up a bottle, take the cap off and hand it to me and the beer now costs $4.50 for that effort.

What was your part in this scheme Justin? Do you know this girl? Is she the one who took the inflated tip money to buy tickets for you to see Kobe play.

Michael Shafts was working a routine shift last week at The Ginger Man, a wine bar and restaurant in Albany, N.Y., where he has waited tables for the last four years, when one of his patrons left him $1,000 gratuity for his good service.
"Pay it forward. My birthday present to me!" wrote the diner on the receipt, then left with his wife in a limousine, according to The Ginger Man manager Julie Byron.

After dropping off a veal loin chop topped with an Emmental mornay sauce and truffles for the male diner and the market fish entree for his wife, Byron noted that the pair had a very special bottle of wine with them and inquired about it.
"He told me it was a 47-year-old bottle of Amarone and that he was celebrating his 47th birthday," she said. "I wished him a happy birthday, then it was back to business as usual and I went to chat with a regular outside."
Later, Byron noticed the couple leaving in a limousine and bid them farewell. Upon returning inside, she was greeted by a wide-eyed Shafts, who presented his open billfold to her with the $1,000 tip written out.
"I did a double-take," she said. "Everybody was very excited. It’s thrilling and it's especially unusual for something like that to happen in the capitol district."
Because of the "pay it forward" message inscribed on the receipt, Byron and Shafts spoke at length about how he would use the money afterward. But his colleagues wouldn't have to wait long to find out.
"When he returned to work on Saturday night, he had envelopes of money for all of the staff, both front-of-house and back-of-house that had been working with him on Wednesday night," Byron said. "When all was said and done, he divvied up more than half."
Byron also noted that returning the good deed wasn't out of character for her employee.
"He’s a very hardworking young man," she said of Shafts, who works full time at Sunmark Federal Credit Union, pulls three part-time shifts a week at The Ginger Man and has a side business repairing iPhones, according to Byron.
"I always tell him that he’s my favorite. He’s honestly a great guy and it couldn’t have happened to a better person," she said.

Waiters/waitresses make their living by delivering plates of food to your table.......if you're too cheap to at least leave a 10% tip, then go to McDonalds.
