I respect your opinion regarding a 33 year old with a 14 year old since you probably have come about this opinion as a result of what you have been fed by American media. However, all throughout most of the rest of the world this is not seen as something that should be punished by prison.
Canada had (or still has?) this age as the age of consent. Much of Europe does not look upon relationships such as this as abnormal. Central America, South America and Asia feel the same way. In Arabia marriages with 14 year olds occur today. The only continent I'm not familiar with regarding this viewpoint is Africa.

Jennifer Fichter, 29, of Lakeland, is now facing 20 new counts of sex with a minor, the Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday afternoon.
The new charges stem from a sexual relationship Fichter allegedly had with one of her students in 2011 when the student was 17-years old. Fichter was 26-years old at the time and was an English teacher at Central Florida Aerospace Academy.
The new information came to light during the ongoing investigation by PCSO and Lakeland Police, detectives say. The victim in this case was identified after Fichter’s original arrest last week.
The recent victim told investigators he would spend time in her classroom after normal school hours. The affidavit states they would communicate using a texting app on his iPod since he did not have a cell phone at the time.
The report says the two would spend time together at Fichter's Lakeland apartment, where they would watch TV and cuddle on the couch. The victim told investigators the relationship progressed in October 2011 from kissing to consensual sex.
Detectives say the two had sex approximately 20 times between October 2011 to May 2012 at Fichter's residence and the teen's home when his mother was away.
Fichter's first arrest involved a sexual relationship she allegedly had with another 17-year-old student.
Fichter told investigators that she had sex with that student 20 to 30 times beginning in November 2013. She claims the boy got her pregnant and she had an abortion.
She is facing charges in Polk County and Hillsborough County where the sex occurred, detectives say.
Fichter was officially fired from her position as an English teacher at Central Florida Aerospace Academy on Tuesday.
She remains in the Polk County Jail.

A married, 26-year-old high school English teacher has been arrested for having sex with two 18-year-old male students and giving them some beer inside her home while her husband was out of town on business.
The teacher, Tiffany Leiseth, was a long-term substitute teacher for the New Brighton Area School District in rural western Pennsylvania, reports Pittsburgh NBC affiliate WPXI.
According to police, Leiseth invited one of the two male high school seniors over to her house in Moon Township, Pa. on the last day of school. She gave him a beer. They had sex.
The very next day, police say, the second student went to her home. There was more sex and some more beer.
Prior to all the excitement, Leiseth had – of course – sent the two students nude photos of herself.
Under Pennsylvania law, Leiseth seems to have jumped the gun on the deadline for teacher-student sex by just a few days. She now faces charges of institutional sexual assault – a third-degree felony – because the students had not yet officially graduated.
The raft of charges against the teacher also includes furnishing alcohol to minors, notes CBS Pittsburgh.
“Regardless of your age, whether you’re an adult or not, if you’re a high school student, a teacher cannot have sexual relations with you,” Moon Township Police Chief Leo McCarthy told WPIX.
McCarthy added that the law originated in 2007 “to give people who are being supervised by others protection.”
Leiseth’s attorney, Mike Deriso, argues that the law doesn’t apply in this case.
“She was not their teacher at the time, and they were not her students,” Deriso told CBS Pittsburgh. “My client did not pursue those boys. They are adults. They make their own decisions.”
Police do admit that it was no crime when Leiseth sent nude images of herself to the high school students because they were 18 at the time they received the images.
According to the cops, one of the two teens said Leiseth warned him not to tell anyone about the illicit fling.
That plan apparently didn’t work out, though, because the school district superintendent Joseph A. Guarino called the cops after he had received a couple phone calls about the hanky-panky.
“They had a rumor that a school teacher was sending nude photographs of herself to two male students,” McCarthy explained to CBS Pittsburgh. “They followed up on that rumor and they found those students, and they found the nude photographs, and they identified the teacher.”
School district officials have sacked Leiseth since the alleged incidents came to light. She had been a district substitute for two years and was serving as a long-term sub in an English class this school year.
The school district issued a statement praising itself for providing “complete cooperation with all involved agencies” and declining further comment “in light of pending litigation.”
Local parents applauded the arrest.
“Set the example for any other teachers or administrators that have any thoughts of doing anything like that,” parent Howard Yellock told WPXI.

Saying parents have a right to expect that the adults their children interact with at school will protect them, not victimize them, a Lucas County judge sent to prison a former high school athletic trainer who admitted having sex with a student.
Melinda Rober, 36, of 2552 106th St. was sentenced to a year in prison. She pleaded no contest and was found guilty June 5 of two felony counts of sexual battery for engaging in oral sex with a 17-year-old boy in the school’s football locker room on two occasions between December, 2011, and May 31, 2012.
She also admitted having intercourse with the same young man at his home in Oregon between Sept. 1, 2012, and Oct. 31, 2012.
“No parent should drop a student off at a school and wonder what might happen with anybody who is responsible for watching that time frame — not anyone,” Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook said before imposing the sentence.
He also classified Rober as a sex offender who must register her address with the sheriff of the county where she lives every 90 days for the rest of her life.
The victim in the case told the court that so many jokes were made about him during his senior year of high school that he would get angry and have to walk away.
He said he initially feared he was ruining Rober’s life, “but I also thought I was the only kid who had sexual relations with Mindy and maybe she had just made a mistake.”
Later, he said he talked to others who said they’d done things with Rober too.
“The more people I talked to the more I found out that Mindy had told us all the same story about her and her husband were only together for the kids and that they don’t even talk,” he said. “That’s when I realized how I was manipulated and used to her advantage. ... Even though I might have acted like I knew what I was doing, I didn’t, and she did.”
A tearful Rober apologized to the victim and his family, to the Oregon community and the Clay school district where she was employed for nearly 12 years. She also thanked her husband for standing by her.
“I regret that I made a poor decision. I was the adult in the situation, and I should have known better,” she said.
Defense attorney Stephen Hartman asked the court to place Rober on community control saying she was not a danger to the community, that she would never work in a school again, and would never work as an athletic trainer again.
He said she was going through a number of personal crises and was “profoundly depressed” when she started acting out sexually.
She knew what she did was wrong, he said, but she did not know it was illegal.
Judge Cook rejected his plea for probation and also denied a request to postpone the imposition of her sentence pending an appeal.
Afterward, Mr. Hartman said he was “tremendously disappointed” with the sentence, saying he intended to appeal her conviction “based on the fact that the [sexual battery] statute is unconstitutional. I think the language of the statute is so vague it doesn’t meet the standards for constitutionality.”
Judge Cook said Mr. Hartman could ask Ohio’s 6th District Court of Appeals to set a bond that would allow his client to get out of prison while her appeal is heard, but he said he believed Rober fit the description of “a person in authority” over students as the law requires.
“For me, for purposes of what I have to do here with sentencing, it’s extremely clear,” the judge told Rober. “You fit right into that position.”
