MORE EVIDENCE BY A RESPECTED GUY OFFSHORE NAMED RINGO THAT WSEX IS CLEARED!!!!!!!!!!!

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Why should they cover his scalp? What if he had bet $1 million?

Here are the facts:

Player knew the limit was $500. He had run into the limit 3 times in the past.

Out of those 3 times, he was allowed to wager $1,000. $500 at the initial line and $500 at the new adjusted line.

What made the player believe he could bet 80 times the limit? Over the net no less without approval by a manager.

The software would not take a bet over $500.

The software would not take two bets for $500.

Player skirted his way around the software limits to place $40,000 worth of wagers.

This took the player 2 hours to do.

The player did not call in to get a confirmation on his plays. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

1) the software could have limited the bets to $500 increments to slow bettors down and give the book time to move a line, if it wanted.

2) The player did not 'run into the limit' in the past. The player just happened to be playing with a linesman that chose to move the line.

3) The player could not call for confirmation. Not normal office hours.

"Can you tell me why a book would take double their highest posted limit on a sport they don't cater too?"

BTJ hit the nail on the head. It's commonly called by insiders as *TAKING A SHOT*.

Anyone playing dumb to the *Taking a Shot* is either,

1) clueless to sports betting and shouldn't be involved in this discussion to beging with.

or

2) In on the scam.

In fact this deserves its own thread.

The system took the bets? The tickets were given? The bets should stand?

This is just like the Lotto case in CT.

An employee in a gas station noticed that his lotto terminal was not down and it was after the lotto drawing. Normally they are taken off line by the state about 15 minutes prior to the drawing. So the guy sold himself a winning ticket.

The machine gave him the ticket.

The state didn't see it that way.

They gave him free room and board.

Lou-

Is a book waiting until after the game is over to cancel "Taking a Shot"?

Gringo-
In this case, WSEX is MORE like the gas station employee because the waited until AFTER the outcome was known!

Absolutely Java.

It is common practice and NO bookmaker should ever be considered too *stand-up* not to pull it off.

THE ONUS IS ON ALL BOOKMAKERS, not players, TO MAKE THEIR CLAIMS PRIOR TO AN EVENT STARTING!

This is not a gray area.

Java, without a confirmation over the phone, no one in their right mind would think for a second that those bets would stand.

I don't know how anyone here can say he was sweating the game. Come on. WSEX, going on their past history, would have canceled those bets either way.

1. Wagers go as executed and cannot be altered after the fact except in the case of obvious human or mechanical error.

Does anyone think excepting 130 bets in a row on the same game at the same line is a mechanical error by the software?

wil.

Gringo, to compare this with somebody past posting on a lottery ticket is absurd.

Would WSEX have refunded if he would of lost?

LMFAO.

My gosh! It just baffles me to no end as to why anyone could side with WSEX here. How many freakin times do we have to go through this........
1.There is no limit listed on their site for soccer
2.The bets weren't cancelled until AFTER the fact
3.The bets were accepted, plain and simple.

WSEX has no arguement except that they tried to contact him and let him know.....which is more than likely bogus. If that's the case, why wasn't the money immediately returned to his account?!

Hache can you really go to sleep believing a book that posts its highest limit as $20,000 would take double that on a soccer match?

Wil brungs up a good point, isn't taking so many bets in a row a mechanical error of some sort? I mean name ONE book that would purposely take $40,000 over the net on the same game from one person!

I just had a nice chat with Steve from WSEX. He wants to emphasize he is not trying to get out of paying some type of settlement on the bet. He said they made some mistakes by not having someone covering the office, line not moving 10 cents when each play for limit was made and system not locking it out.

Secondly they do not take much soccer action and the biggest bet was for $500 up until yesterday. This poster took advantage and tried to scam book but agin WSEX is not looking to get out of paying something reasonable to the player. Revere has not called Steve back to work something out.

WSEX is not shot takers and here is the reason/example. Last football season there was a wrong second half total and off by some points/bad line and they took 25 dimes in action on it. WSEX won the bet!!!! After the game they refunded money back to players.

WSEX is a proven honest book over the years and the question they have is should you pay a scammer all 40+ dimes or should there be some type of settlement????

Remember Boys WSEX is not trying to get out of this and not pay, Steve says he is willing to pay a reasonable/decent amount to the player.

Good Luck

A reasonable amount would be half. Maybe Revere hasn't contacted them because he has plenty of money and decided to just take that as a loss. If that's the case, good for him.
