I have not made a comment yet about this as I am reading this whole thing and laughing. This is such a no brainer, it's not funny.. Maybe revere knew he was betting over his limit, yet he did risk his funds, therefore, this man should be paid, NO DOUBT. WSEX, wtf, is this a joke? Your software accepts the bet, therefore, you honor it. If this game loses, revere is out 40k and no one is here. He wins, you come and tell him after the result.. yeah right.. Pay the man his money. Once a bet is accepted, that's it. Your boys at WSEX got careless, why should the player suffer? Hire more competent staff if that was the case, but don't blame the bettor. He risked his hard earned cash and never scammed anyone. If it was your software, then fix it and move on.. Swallow the bet, and that's it.

jj, Most people in here have had accounts somewhere along the line where the original phone~numbers or email's are out of date. Besides, that's one's perrogative if they want to keep their personal info to themselves over the internet.Still........that's WSEX's ONLY defense, is that they tried to contact him! They waited to see what the results were before they took action, plain and simple. IF the bets had of loss, they keep the money......They didn't , so they challenged them. Only one problem, challenged MUCH TOO LATE, when the outcome was evident.No defense, no defense, no defense! This ordeal is SO EASILY in the players favor!
So what if it was a nickel max. The book should make sure their software controls this problem. Some people don't remember who's max is what in every book. Some players have 36 books they bet with, you think they remember each books max bet? lol..

He could have easily lost it. Not like he bet a game that was already completed. How can you be so quick to say they would not have refunded the excess money (all but $1000) if Manchester had lost? Do you know something everyone else does'nt? Are you clairvoyant? Steve did not cancel the wagers prior to the start of the event. If Steve goes into the account and cancels the bets prior to the start of the event he has a leg to stand on.

How about making a list of how posters stand in your eyes here at the Rx. You know, guys hanging on by a thread, guys on very thin ice, guys with two strikes on them, guys who had better straighten out quick, guys whos days are numbered, guys with a price on their head, guys who will never post again if they don't turn it around soon, and then guys just in borderline trouble, guys who still have a little rope left, guys not quite on the schit list, and then some guys who will always be stronger than dirt like Railbird. Add any other categories as you see fit.
