That's the truth.

The only logical explanation of this is:

WSEX caught up on their negligence when it was too late then proceeded to cancel the wagers anyway.

It proves if he had given them a correct phone number, or advised them when he moved, this thread and others like it would never have been started. Correct phone number equals communication before the game with WSEX and verbal cancellation of any bets WSEX felt were not acceptable. Revere most likely would have ended up with at the most 1 dime at plus 120 and maybe another dime at plus 115. The phone being an old number or whatever reason it was a wrong number is key to the entire issue.

jjgold, I am glad you have seen the light. At least you were willing to listen to reason. Revere14 makes three soccer plays in the last eight months, none over a dime. Now in the middle of the night he makes over 100 different plays on the same soccer match totaling 40 dimes and the line does'nt move. He had to know WSEX was not going to let this bet stand. To make things worse for the player Revere14 has a bogus e-mail address AND bogus phone# on file. Case closed.

Wil,

If WSEX knew about the error, why were the bets not cancelled.

No personnel with authority. You are telling me that someone couldn't be authorized to remove wagers to avoid a major dispute?

"And for those who disagree or can't see the problem here, put the shoe on your foot and I bet you change your opinion"

Sorry Hache I can't put the shoe on the other foot. I could'nt change the fact I knew what the limits were. I could'nt make myself believe any book would take 40k on a soccer match over the net. I could'nt convince myself a book would take 80 pops without changing the #. I am not a cheater and I don't play 40k a game so it is impossible

Now if i was just kidding myself or trying to justify myself stealing I could come up with all kinds of crazy excuses

I do not know why they were not cancelled earlier. As far as getting them cancelled before the game started it looks like an impossibility, going by the post of the actual bets (somewhere in one of these threads), first being made in around 2 hours time and later being cancelled in around the same amount of time, more or less. In other words it required someone to eventually cancel all 130 bets one at a time. I can only imagine the staff working at post time were instructed to wait for upper management. It is quite possible Steve came to work and decided to see if he could have made verbal contact with Revere, when that did not happen he cancelled the bets. He could have cancelled them earlier at the 58 minute mark when Manchester took a 2 to 1 lead if he had bad intentions. Waiting for the game to end is not an indictment that WSEX was trying to rob the player. IMHO.

DickyW,

Wsex has these 20 something punks that would rather go drink then work. Haden is a punk that wants to party instead of work, Guys are totally negligent. 47 K is a schoolmaster to get software fixed or hire some graveyard help. With there high vig, rigged casino games, and poker rakes, they should be able to hire someone competent.

WHAT DOES THAT PROVE THAT THEY WAITED TO SEE IF THE OTHER TEAM COULD TIE THE GAME WOW THE MORE YOU SPEAK EVERYGAMBLERSDREAM THE MORE I THINK YOU SHOULD PAY REVERE HIS FULL AMOUNT AND WITH INTEREST

IF I WAS REVERE I WOULD EXPOSE WSEX ON NATIONAL RADIO WITH PAPPA JOE CHEVELIER HE WILL DEFINITLY GIVE WSEX A (BITE ME ) FOR STEALING.IF REVERE DOESNT CALL THE RADIO STATION I WILL BECAUSE I FEEL SO STRONG ABOUT OFFSHORE SPORTSBOOKS CHANGING THERE OWN RULES IN THERE FAVOR.SO I AM GOING TO E-MAIL PAPPA JOE AND TELL HIM WHAT HAPPENED.

MILLENIUM AND BETONSPORTS.COM ADVERTISE WITH THIS RADIO STATION SO THEY DONT WANT THE NEGATIVE PUBLICITY.EITHER WAY THIS HAS TO BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF GUYS WHO MIGHT SIGN UP WITH WSEX THIS FOOTBALL SEASON

JJ once again you are shilling and have missed the point.
The fact that Revere rarely plays soccer is not the point. A valid interpretation from Revere's previous plays is that WSEX moves the line when they don't want any more action. That they kept the line shows that they wanted the action.

Steve proved that they wanted the action by not cancelling the bets until after the game was over. Up until Manchester won it was action (could have gone either way). Once Manchester won, it became an obligation that WSEX needs to pay.

JJ, during the whole Areef situation with BetCBS, his previous plays on Tennis weren't relevant and BetCBS was wrong to past post. This is the same type of situation and you know it!

Revere found a loophole and risked a lot of money WITHOUT KNOWING THE OUTCOME OF THE EVENT! WSEX cancelled the bet only AFTER they knew the outcome of the event.

Since when is a book past-posting legit in your book? (Huh? Did you say 'advertiser'?)

I'm sure when Shrink weighs in on this he will see that advertiser or not, WSEX not only past-posted but lied about it until Revere showed the timestamps.

Dumbest statement (not counting BTJ) posted so far concerning this fiasco.

Did any ever hear the saying:

You snooze. You lose.

WSEX was asleep at the switch. They should have moved the line. They should have cancelled the bets. But they didn't. They lose. WSEX is at fault for posting a line, not cancelling it, then trying to weasel out after the outcome is known.

If a player says: "Hey, I was asleep during the Cowboys game. It know it's over now, but I wanted to bet a dime on them anyway. My past pattern shows that I always bet a dime on Cowboys when it is a full moon so you should honor it now."

Wilheim-
My point was that just because they failed to move a line once a bet was made, that they didn't want the action. The example that WSEX provided and JJ used doesn't prove ANYTHING and you can't use it to conclude either way whether or not WSEX wanted action.

The fact that WSEX didn't cancel the game for 5 hours shows in FACT that they were willing (though not eager) to accept $40K in action. Don't forget, it's not like the line moved everyplace else. WSEX might have thought it was still a bet at the right number and decided to take a chance.

I don't care if it takes WSEX 10 hours to cancel all the bets, they should have started cancelling the first one before the game started.

If the timestamps had shown them cancelling bets from 6:30am until 10am, I might accept their arguments. But, that isn't what happened.

Chuck-
Of course I was being sarcastic the way I phrased that, but let me give you a realistic example.
Maybe WSEX had an out at +130 and was trying to middle the player. I have seen this before with people taking large bets for someone else.

Java big difference with CBS situation, that was a mater of a wrong line/bad line interpretation.

This has nothing to do with a bad line. WSEX $500 limit soccer bet.

What still puzzles me is why he put 40 dimes on the game when everyone else's line was not that far off.

If it was not a scalp, it had to be a rigged game!!! No way are you betting that type of money on two fairly evenly matched teams one way and your previous high bet on soccer was like $500. Something is up here.

JJgold,

You are a moron..

1:They accepted his bets.
2:They waited for the result to come in, and when they lost, they cancelled his bets.

First they claim they cancelled it before kickoff.. Then they later have to admit, that it was hours after the result were in..

What he have bet earlier or what size has NOTHING to do with this bet.. WSEX have no max limit listed on their website, so when their system accepts the bets, ITS A BET. It can never be the players fault that a book are taking bets after they have sent everybody home.. They should take their lines down if they don't want bets during that time! It is not the players job to make sure they move their lines after a hit, that is what you pay a linesman to do.

If I put in a bet at a book, and get the bet accepted, I sure as hell expekt them to honor it, and not cancel it after the result is know.

So they accepted all his bets, waited for the result, and then cancelled all his bets.. Simple as that..

Get a clue.. Pay the man what you owe Wsex.
