I think all here who are not trying to create controversy understand that Peyton Manning has already shown he has a Great offensive mind and maybe one of the best offensive coordinators in the league as a player. Maybe you haven't seen the study he does or the way he reads a defense, but to us who watch every game, there is little question.

Let's just hope he stays injury free Colt fans.

Speaking of the Steelers

Can Steelers coach Bill Cowher ever shed his can't win the big one tag? The Steelers manhandling by the Patriots in last years AFC Championship game was their fourth loss in five AFC Championship Games at home since 1995 under Cowher.

Not with Tony Dungy as his Head Coach.

Just ask Tampa Bay!

Dungy just can't fire anyone up. He is a good coordinator. He can't lead you to the promise land.

Leave Indy while you can Peyton!

ouch wil. that hurts. truth is in 3 of those 4 losses the other team was the better team. The 97 Broncos, 01 Patriots, and 04 Patriots were all better than their Steelers counterparts I'm sorry to say. Personally in retrospect it's hard to imagine the Steelers got that far. Kordell Stewart almost going to 2 Super Bowls??????? Little hard to imagine now. However, that 94 Steelers game was definitely one of the biggest chokes in recent memory when they lost to a horrible Chargers team. That Chargers team was the 2nd worst team of the past 20 years to make the Super Bowl (next to the 85 Pats). That game Pittsburgh just underestimated the Chargers and it came back to bite them in the butt. I can still remember Stan Humphries hooking up with Andre Coleman and Natrone Means running on us. I remember Bam Bam and Foster not being able to run and O'Donnell sucking it up. Just a horrible game to remember as a Steeler fan.

Tom Brady cant hold a candle to Peyton Manning, sure Brady has Superbowl rings, trust me if Peyton was at NE he would have Superbowl rings too, its kinda hard to win when you have no defense. but please dont argue with nobody that Brady is a better QB, if you dont think so, when you get time compare the two stats, thanks...

If Manning was in New England, he would have eaten up the contract of three starters and New England wouldn't have had ANY defense.

Brady signed a $10 million/year contract. Manning signed a $18 million/year contract.

If Manning has no D, maybe it's because the Colts couldn't sign two Pro-Bowl caliber defensive backs or linebackers because of his HUGE contract.

Manning is rich. Brady is a winner.

You can eithr take the money or you can go after the rings.

Things looking up in Foxboro

Free agent linebacker Chad Brown has told the New Orleans Saints that he will be signing with the Patriots, Saints officials said last night. The three-time Pro Bowler had visited New England, Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Denver, but apparently has settled on the Pats as his next destination. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis told a New Orleans radio station yesterday that Brown called him personally and told him the news.

ESPN.com reported that Brown agreed to a two-year, $4 million deal.

These dome teams just dont seem to be able to win a superbowl. This colt defensive talent is at best average. The defensive line was upgraded last year, and they didn't get past new england.

Now they have to fear a very solid Jacksonville team which will contend for afc crown this season.

Sorry colts and manning fans, but your superbowl dream is simply that.......a dream.

I think Indianapolis has to fear Houston more than Jacksonville. Jacksonville does not have a good secondary, although Mathis is improving. They're DT's are outstanding but I can tell you that they've always had trouble getting a pass rush and I don't think Hayward was worth $25 million. Fragile Freddy is always a fear for injury and Leftwich seems to be prone to injury. The Offensive Line is still subpar and the linebacking core is young and inexperienced. Even though I think Ayodele will be a stud.

I like Peyton and Dungy a lot. Both are a class act. I grew up in Cincy and would love to see Indy win it all. I just don't think Dungy can pull the trigger.
Followed to many years here in Tampa.

Jacksonville is a team to be feared this season. I hope the consensus stays with what you are thinking so I bet the Jags early and often. I agree Houston is a decent team, but this Jacksonville defense is among the nfl top 3. Also, the offense will be more explosive this season.

Oh, make no mistake, Indy is not a lock to win the South.

Agreed General. If anything, they are more of a lock to NOT win the South.

Cincy Hugg is right. Manning's massive contract (along with James' and Harrison's) prevents Indy from any type of spending on free agents for defense. i think these guys are fated to always be the bridesmaids and never the brides. Indy simply has too much cap money tied up in three players although i'm guessing james will be gone in 2006.
