Why take out Lowe?

No way Pedro would be on hill for me. No way. I would not risk my #2 starter, with iffy Schilling being the number #1. What is the point of having a bullpen? At this stage of the season, no pitcher needs work. And what are the guys in the pen thinking? We must suck? Last time I checked, the pen was awesome the last 3 games. And Schill went deep last night, so are rested. I strongly disagree with that move.:neenee:

First off let me say that if Lowe hadn't complained or wasn't injured Francona just have left him in. He could have left Lowe in Pedro warming up and given Lowe one batter before he would yank him. Now all of you guys are talking out of both sides of your mouths. Pedro is good enough to start game one or two, but he isn't good enough to come in and try to hold down the fort. Who else was Francona supposed to put in?

We don't know the whole story

Btw: How was his decision to keep Belhorn in the lineup when the whole world wanted Reese looking now?

Francona has guts and right or wrong is willing to make difficult decisions

The penn has been outstanding the last 4 nights but Jesus Christ their arms are probably about to fall off. Pedro is the best pitcher on the staff with the most rest. Who would you have put in?

Just when I think I've seen it all, Terry Francona tops it. What is this guy thinking about? Has he lost his mind? That has to be one of the dumbest managing moves I've ever seen. Why would he bring in Pedro Martinez into this game? Unbelieveable.

Of course its easy to second guess Hitman, and you are right to a degree...I very seldom second guess a manager...I was thinking more about the World Series than Pedro blowing the game....Pedro isn't that durbale as it is...and you have a 7 run lead...

If I was going into the game knowing I was using Pedro (just to stay sharp , and get in some work)...I would have had him out there in inning 9...

This is what makes baseball great man...

I would have used anybody but Pedro. You need him to start game 1 or 2. Maybe he is having flashbacks of the Angels comeback in game #3. Timlin, maybe Wake. Any middle reliever.

True Journey, and when players are pressing for the fences, non-fastball pitchers can especially frustrate hitters(see Wakefield in Gm-5 & in last year's ALCS)..BTJ is gonna be really hungover Thursday!

Pedro at this stage of his career, and this late in the post season, does not need work. If anything, he needs rest, like every other starter. And the pen was not tired, middle relievers rested last night with zero pitches. Wow.:biglaugh:

Lockmaster:

Why aren't you a major league manager? Looks like you can have Torre's job and I'm sure you will make a hell of a lot more managing the Yankees than whatever it is you are doing now. The Diamondbacks are also looking so I think you should apply their too. You are so smart.

Thats what I'm talking about keep scoring no lead is to big. 10-3 is the same as 8-1 before Pedro came in.

Sorry Hitman, it is called risk assessment. And you were incorrect, the pen was not even used in game #6, except for closer Lowe one inning. Any other erroneous facts to throw out? Notice not one person on the board is agreeing with you or bringing Pedro in? A 7 run lead is not a time for risks, or desperation. Did you have the Yankees to win the series after game 3 at -16.00 or just spouting unresearched drivel to support your joke called an opinion?:biglaugh:
