You think the manager didn't know he had only thrown 69 pitches?

I can't imagine Francona intending for this to be anything but a "bullpen session" for Martinez. He should be limited to 30-35 pitches here.

Goddamnit Journeyman: You don't know the whole story and neither do I. Lowe could have injured himself or told Francona he didn't have any gas left in the tank. That is my point. I agree that if Lowe told Francona I'm fine leave me in, that it was a terrible decision to keep him in there (the way he was dominating) but if not then what was Francona supposed to do?

I know he does some unorthodox moves, but cannot figure rationale on this one, and all of his pen has been outstanding. I can see taking out Lowe, because of his possible implosion, cruising or not. But to put in Pedro? This is one starter you really need next round. Garner left his rotation in tatters getting by Atlanta, and if they lose to Cards tomorrow, those first two games with 3 and 4 starters is the reason. Pedro does not enter this game for me, unless it is a tie or 1 run, and is late innings like last year, do or die time, when Yankees brought all arms in. This is a or was a 7 run game. Too much downside for Pedro.:neenee:

If Grady got fired for leaving in Pedro and losing last year, they will hang Francona by his balls from the Fleet Center scoreboard if they lose this one.

Ok, lets see...It just didn't look like anything was wrong with him....Either way its a strange move considering the future ...I said he must be in for an inning at best...I would have stayed with the one hitter...but that's just me.

Especially the fact that guys like D Lowe and Wakefield are unorthodox deliveries, when guys that throw that way are "on", and on low pitch counts, you have to let them go with big leads until touched slightly.

Yet Pedro should be good for at least 4 good innings with the rest he has had.
