Why isn't there some sort of gambling alliance to fight and be heard?

I must say, your initial reaction really concerns me, and I wonder if it is a widespread thought....

it seems you are not concerned with governemnt interference in peoples lives in general, EXCEPT when it affects you directly (sports betting). Your reaction seemed to indicate that you think their fight is ridiculous. (maybe I read you wrong)

we need to look at this from a MACRO angle, not a MICRO one.... The idea has to be that the people will not tolerate the government interference in our lives, no matter what the issue.

SS, this is typical of the US.

There is the horse racing lobby, Indian casino lobby. Horse tracks need slots to level the playing field. Poker players want their own exemption.

Its never couched in terms of government interfering with free choice so long as it harms no third party. Remember they never had a Trudeau to espouse this political point of view.

It was expressed in the Constitution but they don't use it anymore. "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" eh.

Maybe the Marijuana backers can join up with the Gambling backers and make an even stronger position.

Cool that would mean that we all want to sit around and smoke pot and gamble on the sports on T.V.

That would be good.

This is the problem when the Goverment themselves has us all seperated. We could all get together and stop this crap, but we are all only interested in what we want to do and could careless what others would want. And that fits in perfectly with the Goverments plans for us.
