guessing avg age of those that selected the Derby is 75...

The Derby is like the Super Bowl........Almost everyone puts a wager on the Derby, all ages.

People know nothing about horse racing....But they will make a bet 1 time a year.....The Kentucky Derby!

The bottom line is that boxing just isn't what it used to be and the Derby is the most exciting 2 minutes in sports year in and year out every year and it's been that way for decades. Now, if we were back in the 70s or 80s, when great boxing rivalries happened numerous times every year and boxing was actually exciting to watch(Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Pazienza, Arguello, Pryor, Ali, Frazier, Norton just to name a few) and one of those rivalries was on the first Saturday in May, then it might be a closer poll. And no, I'm not quite 75 yet, lol.

Unless there is a clean knockout, how can 1 enjoy boxing. And if there is a knockout, it will be shown 500 times on every sports channel. Unless it is slow motion, you can't even tell when someone lands a punch

I'm having a fight party. .I will keep you off the guest list

In all seriousness, I understand the Derby is an event... I'm sure it's a blast to be there, drink, go to the concerts, flirt with the ladies in the hats... But as a sporting event on tv, I could really care less... I think most of america - even sports fans dont care.

Gamblers and old guys is what I think of when I think of horse racing

I agree these boxers are over the hill....but this is an epic matchup....

one month after this is done, most won't know who won the NBA playoffs that day,

one year after this is done most won't remember who was drafted where (maybe Winston/Mariotta),

two years from now most won't know who won the derby.

But 10 years from now we will all still remember who won this fight.

Sure you'll remember who won--it's two participants. And they'll only fight twice so it'll be easy to remember. And if you think only old guys give a damn about the Derby, who do you think will watch the fight? Younger crowd watches MMA. Pacquiao has lost five times and Mayweather is a great defensive fighter. Yawn. Wake me up if the heavyweight division gets interesting.

it's true....someone tell me who won the derby in 2013? it isn't one most will know....most will give the "oh yeah" when they think back....

same with last year's draft (about 8-9 months ago only)....how much do you remember? Johnny football? Carr? ODB? Sammy Watkins? I couldn't tell you what pick any of them went....except I remember Manziel slid.

it was 20 years ago, we remember who won the Tyson-Holylfield fight....we probably even remember who won the rematch....and I still don't think that compares to how anticipated this one is
