I guess I'm just getting old, but I can remember back in the early 70's right around before they released Exile On Main Street, when the Stones had lost most of their popularity from their mid 60's days and were actually underrated and considered somewhat washed up as a band. Not so fast my friends...

I like Nirvana itself but they killed rock and roll.
They were good in itself but after them every band in the world tried to be them and they all sucked.
So they caused more harm then good.

Its not really their fault but it still happened.

They killed metal which was a good thing...music cycles come and go...Do we really want Disco, Metal, etc to stay forever ?

Led Zeppelin - Essentially a cover band early in their career.
Aerosmith - Post "Night in the Ruts"
Nirvana
Pearl Jam - Eddie Vedder sounds to much like Mr. Ed
Bruce Springsteen - Never understood his popularity
Green Day - Stop calling them punk. They're not even close
REM
Journey - First three albums were great. Once they got Steve Perry all down hill.
Fleetwood Mac - All albums once Stevie Nicks & Lyndsay Buckingham joined.
U2
Any of the new pre-manufactured bands that exist today.

I used to, but I don't judge anyone's taste is music anymore. What's the point? I watched the Grammy's last week ... and for me, AC/DC were by far the best act the entire evening. I never understood the whole Nirvana cult thing, but they were a good band.

Everyone's different. For me, the Stones are the greatest rock/blues band in history and Mick Jagger is the greatest entertainer ever. I have seem them play 17 times and its was awesome every time.

So enjoy what makes you get up and dance.

+1

So much of the early Stones catalog is golden

Nirvana is the top of the list. If that moron hadn't died they would have faded away to never be heard from again....except on "90's retro nights".

Dave Matthews. I don't get it.

Cold Play. See Dave Matthews.

Aerosmith.

Wow... wow... I see some people are getting outta line here!

FU Coach you dont talk about the dead like that!!!

If that "moron' didn't die I reckon their epic legendary status wouldn't be as high BUT they would still be legendary and probably filling up stadiums.

Unlikely as Cobain wanted to quit the music biz altogether.
