Baseball plays 162 games regular season, yet the Rangers, with the least amount of wins between the final 8, are playing in the WS.

exactly my point, if they let 16 into the postseason in baseball, id be livid, of course the pirates still couldnt make it even then.

at least with 8 teams you could say this team was the 4th best in their conference, seems ridiculous that 2 teams who barely won half their games are playing a series where the winner has a shot at a title.

One of the worst TV sports ever. I'll go in person if I get a free ticket otherwise it bores the hell out of me UNTIL the playoffs start. Regular season doesn't mean a thing. Too many teams make the playoffs and the league is too watered down. I was a huge Sabres fan back in the 70's when it was an awesome league. Now I find it bordering on embarrassment. To many games and to many players going through the motions on any given night.

I'll admit, until high def, it was hard to watch. Now I watch a game almost every night.

i used to like it when i was a little kid. maybe i grew up, i duno. the league changed and i changed, and we broke up. i could get into it with a few changes possibly (MAJOR changes though). i did watch some of the olympics this year. i could never see myself being a huge fan of the game again, but i could get into casually maybe.

Baseball is probably the worst sport to watch on TV or live. Hockey is fast paced and you're always on the move. Maybe because I grew up with hockey I'm more bias towards it...but saying hockey is boring just doesn't compute.

to each his own. apparently im in the minority on this one which surprises me a little, i was expecting 50 50 on this to be honest. i know this is a sports betting site, and i know hockey is not heavily bet at all, in fact, i dont even personally know 1 person who bets it with any regularity at all and i know plenty of sports bettors.

i do agree with baseball being boring, i have watched almost the entire playoffs up to this point though, the slow pace works for that sport during the playoffs IMO with the tension building on every pitch.

The regular season I follow the teams, but don't watch a whole lot. IMO playoffs are great. I watch a ton then.

why, cuz i dont wanna sit through a game that has 2 20 minute breaks in the middle of it?

No, because you've obviously never played the game a day in your life. It's the toughest sport, by far, and someone who knocks it because it has 2 20 minute breaks to resurface the ice is probably someone who has a closet full of nice shoes and main line purses. BTW. games never last more than 3 hours and usually in the 2.5 range. OTOH a football or baseball game surpasses a hockey game time wise on a nightly basis. A football game...where the clock runs even when the game is paused for players to get back onto the line of scrimmage....normally runs between 3 and 3.5 hours.

Hockey's a tough game to watch on tv and the main reason it has not as media popular as the other sports. But the introduction of HD has really made a difference. And sitting at a live game in the lower half of the arena is IMO the greatest live sport to watch of all.

its not even about time, its just hard to get into sitting thru 2 intermissions, could you imagine if football had a long break after every quarter?

obviously here there are some people, but outta sports gamblers, id say the % who actually bet this sport is very small.

the best thing abute hockey is that everybody plays
that is the primary reason it is the most fun sport to play.

Best sport to play or watch live hands down. To watch on tv, it's still tops for me but if you haven't been raised with the game I could see how you might have some troubles keeping up but if you stick with it at all, it'll win you over quick.

If hockey players could learn to be better dancers and celebrate ordinary play like NFL players, then maybe I could have a higher opinion of the sport.
