A "beard" is someone who is betting for someone else. The main reason a beard is used is to circumvent max limits.Budworth22 said:

as long as they pay on time all the wagers they confirm then what is the problem here? IS anyone getting a soft line and then having it cancelled because they are sharp and they do not want a sharp? not that I have heard. its a new -105 shop and they want to stand the short term fluctuation all these RX sharps are bringing to their shop. lower limits will help that in a few cases. I dont see an issue here. maybe in 5 years they are the new pinny with $20,000 limits!
If you got a guy beating you so bad even with a $500 max limit at the halfway point, why don't you just start betting with him or shade the line the guy is betting.

I don't understand. A book hangs a line, charges 10c both ways (5c in this case) and cries because someone bet a certain way. I liked Minnesota a lot Sunday against Carolina and got them +7.5 on Saturday, does that mean if I would have bet them with your book, I would be booted because the line closed at 6.5 or 7?

You scalpers should have nothing to worry about. It's the 30k on one side in 2 mins 20 secs before the board goes black we're getting rid of. Does it make sense to get middled? Does it make sence to pay 25k for a 30sec heads up?<o></o>
