Nope to Sanders.

Neon Deion fell short by only appearing in the World Series with the Braves in the early 90s all in losing causes (he was gone in 95 when they finally won) and he was on some Cowboy and 49er NFL championship teams.

bellyputter - give the man a Cee-gah...

6 Ft. 8 In. Gene Conley played for the WS winning 1957 Milwaukee Braves as a spot starter and reliever and played for the Boston Celtics as a back-up forward during three NBA championship years of 1959 to 1961.

Along the same vein of question.

Name the only players to play in both a final four and a World Series. They didn't necessarily win any rings in both.

Bellyputter, I actually saw Conley play for the Celts a few times back in the few years he was with those great Bill Russell led teams. I also saw him pitch for the Red Sox a time or two in the very early 60's at Fenway.

Viejo Dinosaur..

Tim Stoddard is one...

Tim Stoddard was a starting forward on the 1974 NCAA champion North Carolina St team led by David Thompson that went 30-1 and played in the World Series with the O's in 1979 only to lose to the "We are Famaleee" Pittsburg Pirates in 7 exciting games..

Good job TomGshotput.

Kenny Lofton was a back up point guard (to NBA Vet Steve Kerr) on U. of Arizona's 1988 Final Four team that lost to Oklahoma in the semis. Lofton has a ton of post season experience but has only been to two World Series playing on the losing side twice first in 1995 with the Indians and in 2002 with the Giants.
