A bunch of plays for later tonight, including my first 2-unit selection. Liriano and Braden each have only given up a run in the first inning once in twelve starts!

COL/MIL - NO (-115)
DET/CWS - NO (-125)
MIN/OAK - NO (-130) 2 UNITS
SDG/LAD - NO (-120)

These are the only two plays that came up when I crunched the numbers for all the day games this morning. I'm stuck at work now so I can't look at the exact numbers, but one thing that jumps out is that Maholm has allowed a 1st inning run in 5 of 12 starts. Usually a number like that precludes a game from being a play on the NO side.

Not exactly. I have a database set up with entries for every game this season. It stores tons of stats for each game, one of which is the number of runs scored in each inning. So for this system I wrote a script that will go through the game logs and count games with first inning runs for each pitcher and team for each matchup.

Good call in the early game. Since you hit at 50% a clip, im debating fading your second play. my book has the line at -110

Nice work so far. I think you'll do fine with what you've got and a little "tweaking" as you go. Keep us posted....

What site can I find linescores.....(1st inning scoring) without having to look up each individual game log. My database is from 2000-2008, but it doesn't include this years data.

Thanks

Unfortunately (for everyone else) the database I am using is my own creation. I run a script every morning that grabs all the stats from the previous day's games. So my method actually does go through all the individual game logs, and I don't know of a site that makes it easy to get first inning scores without doing that, sorry.

As for today's plays, I don't see anything very good in the night games so I'm going to call it a day and lock in the 2.15 unit profit. I'm finally back in the black! :toast:

Today's results:

STL/FLA - YES (+115) win
CHC/HOU - YES (-140) win

2-0 (+2.15 units) on the day

Overall 19-16 (+0.35 units)
