YAnks will have the lead in 2 weeks
Dream on.

I was wondering how many Yankees are future HOF that are on this team?

I come up with 7. Torre, Jeter, Posada, A-Rod, Clemens, RJ & Mariano.

I got to be missing somebody.

Torre
Jeter
ARod
Clemens
Rivera

maybe Andy...shoot maybe even Cano (way too early) if they ever unleash this guy...he should be batting leadoff.

Baseball Reference has a pretty cool HOF monitor. By their standards, 130 is pretty much a cinch to get into the Hall and 100 is a "good possibility." The Yankees on the list:

Clemens: 336
A-Rod: 298
Jeter: 197
Mariano: 173
Mussina: 109
Pettitte: 98
Giambi: 95
Posada: 75

And for the record, Bernie Williams (who I have a ton of respect for) has 133.

I forgot RJ is back with ZONA, he's out for the year. Threw me for a tiny loop.

Trivia: Posada Is one of an extremely small number of baseball players, which also include Vladimir Guerrero and Moises Alou, who bat without the use of batting gloves. Both Posada and Alou urinate on their hands in order to toughen them up and prevent calluses. However, Posada only does it during spring training.

that is interesting Jibba (about Bernie)

I personally don't think Mussina makes it or Andy...what does that formula say about John Smoltz? can you post that link?

I didn't know Jorge was also a 'pee'er' Rob....I'm really surprised at his season, he's looked done in other yr's and here we are, he's having one of his very best seasons...still has no shot at the HOF IMO.

Here is the link. Pretty cool to browse through. Smoltzy has 147. Here's a very brief description:

This is another [Bill] Jamesian creation. It attempts to assess how likely (not how deserving) an active player is to make the Hall of Fame. It's rough scale is 100 means a good possibility and 130 is a virtual cinch. It isn't hard and fast, but it does a pretty good job.

Oh, and Joe Torre is a 96.
