Man they're horrible, not only the pitching, the hitting as well.

If I were Steinbrenner I would start moving people around Today!

This team is as bad as it gets.

This was evident over a year ago...but what do they do in the off season? NOTHING

Oh wait, they added a 45 year old pitcher! Great move there.

I know, for real, adding age and more age to a team that doesnt need any is moronic..

what im surprised is, even the hitters are horrible..

give me a break, if i were The Boss, i would do some serious firing...

They need a new GM and a new Skipper.

I respect them. The Yanks are the Yanks and they are the most storied franchise in baseball, but the product they have been putting out for the last 5+ years just flat out SUCKS. Of course, you take the payroll into account.

I know I'm a Red Sox fan, BLAH BLAH. They have been better than us for the most part, but Yankee Caliber?! No way.

they dont need a new manager when he had the RIGHT pieces he knew how to get everyone ab's and keep everyone happy... they need a new gm, he obviously has no idea whats going on... all he does is get bad guys that ruin team chemistry... if he could keep past stars such as fielder, straw, raines, duncan, all guys that knew they were past their prime and wanted to win happy then its proven that he can make it work... his job is to manage not get talent... cashman hasnt made a good trade in i dont know how long nor a good sign of a free agent... he just reacts to what boston does instead of doing what he needs to do... they sign dice-k and he has to get igawa who isnt a double a pitcher... randy johnson horrible sign... sheffield horrible... arod horrible... the list goes on and on... if people think roger clemens (who is the most selfish athlete in the history of sports) is the answer they are way off... the yankees are done and me being a yankee fan hope arod leaves and they clean the house and get people in their like they did in their dynasty years... i would give anything to have guys like paul oneill and scott brosius back... but cashman has unlimited funds and no clue how to put it to good use...

The salaries of the Yankees starting rotation is more than five or six teams entire team. They are an allstar team gone bad.

Regardless, they still make the playoffs this year and will be battling for first place by the end of August

The Yankee dynasty of the late 90's was brought about when King George was suspended and couldn't mess with the team. Stick Michaels and others were able to develop home grown baseball talent and compliment the team with solid free agents. Whenever the Yankees go into a down period the response from King George is to buy high priced free agents that never achieve up to expectations. What the Yankees need is to once again develop a solid farm system that is able to consistently produce players. They need to sink all that money into scouting and development. Sure Cashman has made some bad deals, but at whose insistence? As Boston fans love to say "Yankees suck! Yankees suck!" They are old and broken down, and Roger must be wondering "WTF was I thinking?"

I don't think I've ever heard a better chant than 50k people shouting "Who's your Daddy" to the same beat.

The difference is, Yanks fans root for the Yanks to win. Sox fans root more for the Yanks to lose than the Sox to win. It's like short man's syndrome.

Too much talent to be under .500
This team will get it together.

my opinion: too much talent, not enough character.

ex: Sox game tonight...2-1 game...2 outs....bases loaded...0-2 count...alex cora fouls off pitch after pitch and gets a clutch hit. Yankees just dont have guys like that...ie, someone like a Paul O'Neill years ago.

How many years have I heard this? Year after year after year............your team is garbage.:nopityA:

I didn't say we were the 1998 Bombers, but I am saying we will not be under .500, if you think so, give me a dollar figure you want to wager.

Ive never liked the Yankess. Im a Reds fan and have soem serious jealously issues with the big market teams over the past 20 yrs.

However, I think that quality Yankee teams = good for baseball and as such think Steinbrenner needs to make a major splash at the deadline or go on and sell the team to some billionaire with the energy and drive he used to have.

Hard to explain but I like to see the in the playoffs even though I hate baseball not having a salary cap.

The Yankees will not finish below .500. Thats absurd. Playoffs? I dunno, but thats possible still, its 162 game season.

It's very likely that the Wild Card will NOT come from the Eastern division, and they're not catching the Red Sox, so they'll have their noses pressed against the window looking in this year: A-Fraud has returned to earth, to put it mildly, Abreu sucks donkey dick, Bite-my-Wang is not looking nearly so shiny this year, the defense is shoddy, Rivera may be finished and isn't getting enough work to disprove that notion, and, unlike in years past, I doubt that they have any great minor league prospects to give up in an attempt to buy a World's Championship-a practice that hasn't shown any dividends for six years anyway. But bringing in a fat pitcher, on a 9 month layoff, close to 45 years of age, to pitch six innings-maybe-before turning things over to that wonderful middle relief, THAT'S gonna get them over the hump. Keep dreaming...
