Let's get on the board this week.

I think I am going to leave the Cardinals alone for awhile.

After delivering a 60 dime winner for me on Saturday I have lost with them on Sunday and again last night as they just aren't hitting in the 4-2 loss.

So we are almost halfway through the month of June, a month I am trying to make winning month #5 of 6 here in 2018.

Better get of my ass and get on a role here and I am confident as I always am everything will be ok when this week has come and gone.

Let's get on the board this week.

ANALYSIS

They will dominate this young kid again.

Frankie Montas is killing it as a starting pitcher.

In 3 starts this year he is 3-0 with a 1.25 ERA beating Arizona 2-1, the Royals 16-0 and the Royals again at home 7-2.

However, he now faces a team that he hasn't had much success against.

In 2017 pitching in relief he has gotten destroyed in both 1 inning stints.

He gave up 3 hits and 2 runs in the 9th inning of a 10-6 loss in his 11th career appearance and then gave up a 3-run homer 2 weeks later in a 7-2 loss.

I will force him to match Verlander pitch for pitch because with the Astros rightie pitching as good as he is this year, I just don't see it happening.

Let's start with the 8-2 mark this year with a 1.45 ERA and over his last 10 starts he has given up more than 2 earned only once.

Off the 7-3 win over the Rangers last start out, he now faces a team he will be very confident against.

In 17 career starts he is 10-6 with a 2.61 ERA including 5-4 with a 2.38 ERA in Oakland.

I will force Montas to show me he can handle the Astros 2 or 3 times thru the order and outpitch Verlander.

Astros won the first 2 games of this series 6-3 and 13-5 and I see more of the same today.

Houston rolls big this afternoon.

Let's double our money on Friday.

Sometimes you just get an easy one and that was exactly the case with Justin Verlander and the Astros on the run line over the A's.

Houston scored 7 and the big righty allowed just one run in the Astros 7-3 win.

So off that 20 dime winner I double down with a 40 dimer on this card today as I continue on my way for winning week #2 in a row.

ANALYSIS

Looking for a huge bounce back from the big guy.

Jake Arrieta got rocked by the Brewers in Philly last week to the tune allowing 5 runs and 3 walks in 5 1/3 innings in the 12-3 Phillies loss.

That was after his 6 innings 5 run effort at San Francisco the start before.

Now he gets the Brewers again and I look for the former Cy Young Award winner to man up and pitch a gem in a ballpark he has had great success.

In 5 career starts in this ballpark he is 3-0 with a 2.03 ERA.

As for the Brewers and Brent Suter, he has been rock solid as of late.

He improved to 4-1 over his last 5 starts and after 6 days off will be fresh and ready to go.

He has faced the Phillies twice and the boys from the city of brotherly love are batting .217 against him.

Suter's last 3 home starts he has given up 3 against St.Louis, 2 against the D'backs and 2 against the Indians.

Considering the numbers and the situation, my money is on both of these gusy dealing and a low scoring game at Miller park tonight.

Let's get some momentum back on Sunday.

Never in a million years did I think I would lose my run line play on the Braves and Newcomb on Saturday because the Braves couldn't score more than 1 run.

Never. Never. Never did I think Jordan Lyles would shut them down.

Well he did and I came up short on Saturday.

Long way to go here in June before the jury comes back on posting winning month 5 of 6 here in 2018 and I wouldn't count me out just yet.

I closed the NFL season on a 17-6 run, with the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

I closed the college basketball season on a 13-2 run, with Villanova over MIchigan.

I am about to close the month of June on the same kind of run. Just you watch.

They will go home happy.

The Angels look to take 2 out of 3 from the A's and salvage what has been an otherwise miserable road trip.

Los Angeles is 3-5 on this 9 game road trip and trust me, 4-5 is a lot better than 3-6.

To do that, they need leftie Andrew Heaney to do what he has been doing, follow a bad start with a really good one.

Heaney has allowed 1 or no runs four times in his last 8 starts followed by a bad start where he has given up a total of 16 runs.

He should be very confident because in 3 starts against the A's he is 2-1 with a an ERA under 4 and has won on this field 9-4 with 7 innings of 3 run ball.

Oakland turns to Daniel Mengden, who is 6-6 with an ERA of 3.90.

He has been even worse in 2 starts lasting a total of 8 2/3 innings giving up 12 runs on 13 hits in losses to Texas and Houston.

Against Los Angeles, he is 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA in 2 starts.

Rolling with the Angels to get the series win.

I hate blown saves period. I get every now and then when a guy blows a 1- run lead but it really gets my blood going when you blow a 2-run job like Blake Parker.

Up 5-3 heading to the bottom of the 9th he gives up a pair and you know it, Angels lose in the 11th.

When it's going good, like it has most of this year, you don't lose games like that but when you are in a little slump, it happens.

Let's back the road team in the first game of this series.

When the Brewers signed Jhoulys Chacin to a 2-year 15.5 million dollar deal in the offseason, they ended up getting the bargain of a lifetime.

Chacin has gone out and gone 6-0 with a 2.66 ERA over his last 12 starts while his team has gone 12-3 in his starts overall.

I love the way he is pitching and I love the price we are getting with him tonight.

The Pirates counter with Trevor Williams, who at the moment can't get out of his own way.

He is 0-2 with a 8.57 ERA over his last 5 starts including a total of 8 runs against the Rockies on 6 hits in just 3 innings of the Pirates 13-8 loss.

All things considered, I have a hot pitcher with a hot team behind him when he pitches at a great price.

Give me Milwaukee tonight.
