should be an interesting off season for the Pirates. I have no idea what they will do.

will they Non Tender Garrett Jones?
how much are they willing to pay to re-sign Morneau and Byrd? they paid some lip service to giving it a try
Will AJ Burnett Retire? Will he sign with the Pirates again?
Do the Pirates try to sign Barmes as a back up infielder?
Can Huntington work some Miracles and find a guy like Liriano for cheap again?
will there be any attempt to lock Pedro Alvarez up to a long term contract?

will they Non Tender Garrett Jones? - Garrett Jones should be gone, Hopefully.
how much are they willing to pay to re-sign Morneau and Byrd? they paid some lip service to giving it a try - Got to sign byrd, Morneau can go IMO
Will AJ Burnett Retire? Will he sign with the Pirates again? - I think AJ honestly likes pittsburgh...maybe another year.
Do the Pirates try to sign Barmes as a back up infielder? - maybe, for cheap.
Can Huntington work some Miracles and find a guy like Liriano for cheap again?
will there be any attempt to lock Pedro Alvarez up to a long term contract? - this is the biggie, we better lock him up for 6 years now.

garrett jones they may be stuck with as they should have got rid of him when he was being looked at and now since he has become a non-existant player due to very poor production

i really hope they try and keep marlon byrd as he was a good addition for the pirates and shored up the right field spot that we needed.he did produce for the pirates and i believe he likes pittsburgh.

morneau he most likely won't get signed and i really hope he does not as he did nothing for the pirates run and in the playoffs.he may have been somewhat of a spokesperson but other than that he did nothing.........now that don't mean our first base position is solved cause gaby sanchez is not the answer and like i said i hope jones gets let go so we will need to go after a first baseman for next season.

barmes i think is out in pittsburgh unless he plays for dirt cheap.jordy mercer who i really like is going to be the starting SS and he does better at the bat and really is good in the field, and if he gets the full time job i believe his defense gets better.

i doubt they get another find like liriano but i don't think we need to look for another top pitcher.wandy hopefully comes back with top health on his elbow and we have a nice staff going on there now.i think we are going to lose someone in the bullpen, which i hope we don't but there are too many solid arms there that somebody might be thinking about making a move to another team as their closer.the shark tank is loaded so its going to be hard to keep all of them.

a.j. burnett, wow, who knows what he is going to do.he really likes playing for this team and has had fun doing so but if he is upset with not starting game 5 against the cardinals which i don't believe he should have then he may want to retire.lets face it,nobody is going to give him top dollar anywhere else and if he stays with pittsburgh then he may get satisified and play another season, but i say if its not the pirates then its retirement for a.j.

alvarez really came on this season, and yes i did bitch him early on but he listened to jay bell and fixed some of his flaws and became a guy to rely on when he went to the plate everytime.midway thru and late in the season he was really hitting well and going the opposite way at times and just getting the bat on the ball much more often......now dealing with a contract may be an issue and i hope not,he has an agent that likes to propose free agency offers and he is from the heart of new york so he may be lured to play for either the yankees or mets.the thing about pedro is if he gets the feeling that he is a well wanted and respected person in pittsburgh like tha fans have actually showed him this year then he may want to stay with the same guys he has grown with, its going to be a sticky situation and its going to come down to who has the better pitch lines, his agent or hunington and hurdle then we will see which way he wants to go.

they aren't stuck with him at all. He is Arbitration Eligible, so more than likely they will non tender him as he would get more in arbitration than he is worth. so by non tendering him, he becomes a free agent
