i personally feel all the begging to transfer money threads between posters here if nothing else presented an opportunity for someone to be taken advantage of. if you poker players need money but it in the gdamn account yourself and quit with the threads begging for change from someone on this site.

Tell us who the scammer pretended to be

I would rather not reveal who the impersonater imporsonated, if that guy wants to reveal himself he is free to do so.

I did talk to the real person from the RX today and he assured me that he did not try to contact me and was no way involved in this in any way. I believe him.

If xx7-0007 looks familiar you have got to do something about this. You are just begging to be found and there are people who do not mind doing a few simple searches for a profit.

This does not look familiar. Is this some kind of phone number or something?

I will say that you got UNPRECEDENTED customer service from pokerstars on this issue. I am assuming that you waited until at least today before emailing them.

This type of quick customer service does not happen often at pokerstars this fast. Usually they dont give a shit about transfers between members

How did he know where you live?

They somehow found out what city I lived in, and were able to come up with a story about living in a neighboring city.

The bad news is that I gave them my address to send the check. I do keep a loaded shotgun under my bed and have a couple handguns hidden around the house (I have no kids here). So if anyone tried to use my info and rob me they would be introduced to their brains. I don't think that would be an issue as these guys are already moving on to the next scam I am sure.

As a daily player at pokerstars for over 4 years, I would expect nothing less.

More than 10k in posts, and I would prefer to not reveal this guy as he has been supportive. And since he hasn't already come out and told you guys, I would think he prefers to keep this info to himself right now.

I gave some useful info, people are impersonating other people at this site. I also gave Fultilt handle "AG3N7" Pokerstars Handle "MSHphenom" and pocketfives handle "MSHphenom".

You are right, it does not benefit anyone to know who was being duped as well as you were, albeit in your case, I'm sorry to know that you did lose some money.

I agree that the RX veteran poster will just mention this on his own time or not... since it was just a matter of his likelihood being used & that other than the scammer using his name, he doesn't benefit from everyone knowing it was him because he was also victimized.

Keep us appraised about this situation, the victim. You know I'm anxious to see that you get most/all of your money back.

Regards,

the voice of reason, right on the money as usual.:103631605

we ask over and over that people stop with those threads, a few individuals just ignored the rules even when asked to stop.

The reason this whole situation seems like crap is how hard is it to figure out to come post a thread and tell the guy to post in it to verify it is him.

Just kidding, i was just thinking that a scammer would probably want to use a well known name from the site. NO ONE, BAR NONE is more known than you journeyman

you're blowing so much smoke up our ass we may all get colon cancer, man the fcuk up and admit you're a contributing factor to a fellow poster being scammed! you and the manej with the fcuking begging for money threads is probably what got this shit started, now another poster is out money yet you act like it's no big deal. let it be a fcuking fifty dollar Bonus Play incorrectly graded in a contest and you act like you've been held up at the atm, zero credibility from you on this one. zero!

UPDATE#2

The guy who promised to give me the money back on pokerstars IM'ed me again this afternoon and said that I need to give approval to pokerstars to unfreeze his account. At the exact same time, Pokerstars security called me and told me the guy was a complete scam artist. They told me that they had been watching this guy for quite some time and the problem was that they couldn't prove anything. Unfortunately for the scam artist, he used pertinent information in the conversation with me that I emailed to pokerstars. With that they were able to permanently ban the guy, and close his account. They said they had another scam complaint against the guy currently from another pokerstars member. The bad thing is that I won't be seeing that money again,

Not sure If I understand this last comment.....?? If they know the money was sent from you to his account..Why won't you get your money back from the site ??

Or is the Money Out of there already ??

Sorry to hear about this...This @sshole really needs a Baseball Bat Across the Legs !! If you Ever find out where he Really Lives, and it's Close to the New York Area...Just let me know...:biggrinin
