"I did a test (Friday) night," Harvin explained. "They found some things that we think is the main cause of it. We're all feeling really confident. I know we said that a couple times, but I think this time we found what the main cause was. I'm not saying I won't ever get a headache again, but hopefully, we can slow it down a little bit." Harvin took three big hits from the Seahawks in his return to action, and he came out of the game none the worse for the wear. Draft him with confidence as a WR2.

Rice will be eligible for a Week 7 return, but that would be highly optimistic. Most likely, he's out until November at the earliest. By placing him on PUP, the Vikings can salvage a roster spot. We do believe Rice is worth holding onto in 12-team leagues, but he's only worth a late-round pick.

Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings Coach Brad Childress classified Percy Harvin's hip injury Thursday as a bruise.
Beat reporter Judd Zulgad surmises that the Vikings were merely using extra caution by sitting Harvin out on Thursday. All indications point to Harvin returning to practice Friday before starting against the Dolphins on Sunday. September 16 - 8:03 p.m. ET

Childress continues to label Harvin's injury a "bruise," which in theory will heal with two days before Sunday's matchup with Miami. According to Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Harvin "smiled" when told that he's a game-time decision. Harvin "says he feels fine and is ready to play."

Wyche expects Harvin to be "fully equated" into this week's game after being "taken out of the equation" last week. Wyche further explained that Harvin will be used "out wide, in the slot, and as a running back" behind Adrian Peterson in this week's matchup against the Dolphins. The Vikings apparently realize that they have to get the ball in Harvin's hands to be successful on offense. Check back late Sunday morning, but for now Harvin is a fine WR2/3.

"He's doing better," said Brad Childress. "Those are, unfortunately, nagging kind of things around there. There's nothing that's dramatic going on there, which is always something that you attempt to alleviate." Harvin's status for Week 3 against the Lions is questionable. This is probably about the best news we could've gotten, though we won't really know if he has a chance to suit up for Week 3 until later in the week. Check back for updates.

Harvin's hip injury is just a blip on the radar screen now. The Vikings believed they could prevent further migraines after diagnosing them as a byproduct of sleep apnea during the preseason. Apparently, they were wrong. Harvin almost certainly won't play in Week 3, and there has to be concern that he could be shut down for awhile if the latest episode is severe. Stay tuned.

Of the hip, Harvin said, "A lot of people said I looked normal. It feels good. It gets fatigued at times. But with treatment, keep lifting and getting strong, I should make a full recovery." Harvin said the migraine attack came on Monday, but he went home Wednesday and "woke up energized and ready" for Thursday's practice. "I wouldn't call [the migraine] a setback," said Harvin. "I'm actually happy" because it had been a month since the last episode.

Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings Percy Harvin (hip, migraine) is active against the Lions in Week 3, as expected.
Harvin rallied well on Thursday and Friday, and the hip injury no longer appears to be a major issue. After working on his timing with Brett Favre this week, it's going to be hard to sit him against a lousy Lions secondary. Vikings inactives: QB Joe Webb, S Tyrell Johnson, RB Albert Young, LB Erin Henderson, C Jon Cooper, DT Fred Evans, DE Jayme Mitchell, and DE Everson Griffen. September 26 - 11:39 a.m. ET

Sidney Rice - WR - Vikings Coach Brad Childress claimed Wednesday that the Vikings' acquisition of Randy Moss is not a reflection of the team's pessimism with regard to Sidney Rice's (PUP) recovery from hip surgery.
"He's about where we thought he'd be," Chilly said. On crutches for at least another week, Rice doesn't have a timetable to return. It's an extreme long shot that he'd be ready before Week 8 or 9. Rice has another checkup with Dr. Marc Phillippon in Colorado next week, so we should know more then. October 6 - 4:16 p.m. ET

The Vikings haven't announced whether Bernard Berrian or Harvin will be "demoted" following Moss deal, but Harvin could see a 25 percent slip in snaps and still be a better bet for targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns than the Ghost of Berrian. Fully recovered from a pre-bye week hip injury, Harvin is a high-end WR3 with WR2 upside moving forward.

Moss will definitely make the Vikings a difficult team to play defense against. Do you bring extra guys to stop AP, only to get beat over the top by speedsters in the passing game? Do you double Moss and let AP find more daylight? Do you single team them all and hope for the best?

Sidney Rice - WR - Vikings Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirms that Sidney Rice (hip surgery) will not come off the PUP list this week.
The Vikings have until November 9 to decide whether Rice can practice, but he's not close at the moment. He's barely worth a 12-team league roster spot. We're skeptical of Rice's ability to contribute late in the season. October 18 - 3:41 p.m. ET
