Im sure you guys have seen the head-to-head baseball betting contest going on in the baseball forum. Everyone puts their best picks up each day and in the end whoever wins the most money wins the contest. I saw it as an easy opportunity to track popular plays, so I took a quick count -- most of these are from the contest thread, but I got some picks off of the baseball and Rx tracker forum. How do you not score on that 5 on 3, down by 1 goal and 2 to 1 in the series? Oh, that was a series buster of a powerplay. Keep it light because if Pittsburgh is down late in the third, they will be pulling that goalie. That is why I would not take the under on this game either.

Florida/Atlanta Over 10 +1.10 (3 Unit Play) - The Braves disappointed me yesterday but they now return home where they have went 22-7 on the year and are taking on a Marlin team that has lost 7 of their last 9 on the road. The Marlins have left handed starter Scott Olsen on the hill for tonight's game and he is really struggling lately as he is 0-1 with a 7.08 ERA in his last four starts. Olsen has also not pitched very well against the Braves in his career going 2-4 with a 7.03 ERA. The Braves will counter with Jo Jo Reyes who has a 5.50 ERA at home this year with a 1.83 WHIP. Both pitchers do not have the best command and tend to walk batters putting extra men on base and these two offenses are very good. Atlanta on the season has hit lefties pretty well and have scored 5.4 runs per game against them while Florida has scored 5.1 runs per game against left handed pitchers. I look for a lot of runs in this one tonight.

Ever since the bastards cut through the line in my front yd. last week, my computer goes down just about every day, just got it up or would have contacted you sooner. Just read where banker & prophet were on the Pens +1.5 -135. As I said before the series started I wanted to watch the last gm. with no money on it, count my winnings, & enjoy. Can't take the Wings @ 40c on a dollar, nor Pittsburgh as they & their coach have been pathetic, for the toal you can flip a coin, & puck lines in hockey are about as stupid as in soccer(that I don't watch, but see most gms end 0-0 or 1-0), so I'm going to put my gloves, pads, & stick in the garage until next yr. You da man RD, I admire your decision. I am in the same boat as you for different reasons. I think the wings prolly win, but I want to see more hockey so I will be pulling for the pens. Can't lay the juice, can't make a scared bet, and most importantly I will relax and enjoy the game a lot more with no stake in it.
p.s. you are my hockey guru, but not my brewmaster hehe -- 30 bucks against only 4 bud lights? you can do better than that :toast:
