Padres website actually has good seats left for that game too. Field level for $35 a ticket
toyota terrace rocks soccerbob! its a great time out there! there were problems last year out there that were corrected during the winter. for 1 everyone was pissed you couldnt see the big scoreboard. so they added another that the fans sitting out there can see. they moved fences and made alot of great changes.and in that area is the park in the park which is a gathering place for familys with food and live bands before the games. are you in sd or will you be visiting? i have ideas if your visiting before the game.~RGsoccerbob said:roxy- I'm going to the beach for a few days and wanted to take my son to our first game at Petco Park. You seem to know the park and the ticket situation pretty well. How are those Toyota Terrace Level seats? I can get two tickets in Section 213, Row 1. Hows the view from there and are those seats worth spending the extra money? Thanks.
winky alot of those problems have been corrected. i can tell you what went wrong.after the ballpark project was approved by the voters the legal hassles began. padre management went to thier current stars in 1998 for ideas about what they wanted in a new park. no one expected a 4 year delay by being in the courtrooms fighting useless lawsuits. well they asked tony gwynn, ken caminiti, steve finley...none of which stayed much longer and tony retired. cammy and finley moved on. but the ball park planners were theo epstein and larry lucchino.both moved on to boston and no body bothered to revisit the blueprints! the park was built upon player specifications who were no longer here. the current make up of the team is wrong for cavernous petco.once a week a padre rep is on the radio taking suggestions for improvements and improvements are made.get to a game winky you wont be disappointed parking does suck but park at a trolley stop and ride right to petco for $2. its a great outting.,~RGwinkyduck said:i have been a few games at Petco
nice looking place
BUT
i can't believe how a nice new place like that can have just about EVERY SINGLE SEAT in the park be somewhat of an obstructed view. i went to a game and sat down the LF line last season.
let's see - we were blocked from seeing the last 10 feet of the LF wall as well as about the last 20+ feet of the LF line. we couldn't see the scoreboard at all. i can't believe how AWFUL the design of the place is. HOW can you build a place like this and not think about seating locations and all
Petco - VERY OVERRATED
and don't even get me started on parking :hump: :hump: :hump:
the ONLY reason i can think of to go to a game at Petco is if i was seated next to - or even sharing a seat with Roxy other than that - PASS!
