Red Sox playoff chances with a seven game lead with 19 left is 98 percent.
Rays have a 2 percent playoff chance.

In the West, Texas has a 86.7 percent chance of making the playoffs, angels have a 13.6 percent chance.

In 1978 what were the Yankees chances with 10 games to go had to be worse....

Old time respectable Rec Sox fans know the importance of this weekends series. It's the new young disgraceful Red Sox fan that may take the Rays lightly.

Remember Bucky...

PS lead Allready cut to 6.5...

Red sox will win the division!
Depends on Beckett's heel, I hear Bucky will be ready for the playoffs, if he can give you 50 pitches, let him go 4 innings, then follow that up with aceves for the 5th and sixth.
Unless you want Lackey.

Sox win the divison if they win the NYY and TB series, and my NYY falter (which we seem to do a lot) on this west coast swing.

Sox should take 4 out of 6 from Baltimore.

Rays fans are nuts if they think they can go 16-4 down the stretch, with Boston going 5-14 (blowing 5 out of 6 to the O's along the way)

When the Redsox lose or tie 3 consecutive series they are 19-1 in all games of their following series since 2007. That is the case entering the series that starts in TB tonight.

wow great stat for the bsox...

and i agree this talk about them not getting the WC is nonsense....im not nearly as high on them winning the WS as i was earlier in the year when healthy but they are getting in the playoffs....

bottom line is the phillies have no excuse not to win it all this year...

Husker Redsox blew 2 other "Great Stats" yesterday. In the last game of a Road Series 3 games or longer they were 15-3, outscoring opponents 99-37, with 11 UNDERS in a row. So if they do not regroup this weekend and blow the 19-1 I posted earlier it could mean they are ready to take a fall.

This has already happened with SF this year. There were certain "recovery" situations last year where a 'W' was almost automatic for SF. However, failing in those spots this year will result in them watching the postseason on tv.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)— The Los Angeles Angels rallied to beat the New York Yankees 2-1 Friday night for their fifth win in six games.

6.5 out as well....

Dumping another Sox stat here:

Since 6/4/03 BOS is 35-9 if they lost at least 5 of their previous 6 games [3-2 this year / 4-1 in 2010].
