What is blowing my mind is that Tito seems like a deer in the headlights when it comes to the possibility of putting AGon in right field. Are players now so fragile that they risk long term injury by moving to the outfield for a couple of games? I'm pretty sure that the Sox have the worst right field production in the majors. Apparently, they may give it a shot tonite - we'll see. Anyhow, I do think the Sox are the team to beat in the East.

Hughes is the shittiest 18 game winner I can ever remember, not arguing, just saying......hell Scott Freaking Feldman won 17 games 2 years ago for Texas.....pitcher win/loss column could very well be the most overrated stat in all of sports, especially for gamblers who look at that stat

yeah he had a BAD 2nd half of the year but he had 10 wins at the ASB and a 2.12 ERA, so he falled down a bit at the end but he didnt have that bad of a year

Lackey has to get it going as well imo. He is one of my favorite pitchers, but the guy has been awful in a Red Sox uniform.

While I do agree. I've given Lackey a pass for this year in my mind. For this guy to be dealing with the off the field issues he is, and still be able to put on that Red Sox uniform and compete in the AL East I give him credit. I wish his wife the best, and hope she makes a full recovery.

3-7 in their last 10, 3 games in the loss column out of 1st place...yanks played the reds, rockies, brewers all very good teams... sox played pirates, padres, phillies...1 good team, so you can not say the level of competition

also another wild fact, yanks have lost 12 games since may 13th and 5 of them are loss from red sox games, pretty remarkable...sox still have a good team, they will be there in the end but 2 stud pitchers and a good front of the lineup isnt gonna win a championship

3 best teams in the AL are in the AL East. Will be that way for years to come if TBay continues to impress with their minimal payroll. My personal opinion, I hope they go back to 2 divisions only like in the old days. That way the Sox and Yanks don't play each other 18 damn times during the year. I remember when I used to look forward to those series, now it seems like they're twice a month.

why sketchy? a lot of bettors dont even look at numbers AGAINST the opposing team...they know shields is lights out lately and all his CG and his great ERA and they see lester lose his last few starts and they think wowwww this line is a gift for the rays.... vegas can get away with making the line -160

sox win easily here shields is on extra rest and we all know pitchers HATE extra rest... he is going to get lite up like a christmas tree

When I looked at the line this morning my local had -155...it has since gone to -170.

I thought at first glance 155 was a trap. Lester dominate at home, Sox hit Shields. Lester solid verse Tampa. And Sox just came home from west coast even though they did have a day off yesterday I try to avoid betting a team first game back from a road trip.

All that being said I can see your angle on today and will be betting it.

i just think shields is gonna be rusty he hasnt pitched in awhile...also rays may be a bit rusty too with their shitty offense they havent played since saturday, 2 days off no good for hitters who already slump

One down one to go. Both pitchers were on their game but Lester was just that little bit better. How to go Jacoby Ellsbury with another game winner...

Many BOSOX fans sweating right now..............this team was supposed to roll to the division title, now they are in a catfight with the St. Petersburg Rays.
