Why wouldn't it surprise me to find out this woman invited this man over, and cried rape when her husband and friend came home early and surprised them.

Thanks for the reply.

I hate to sound like a TV cop show or movie but aren't there other reasons cops lie or even plant evidence not because of any personal beef with someone but because of pressure from higher-ups? I'm not asking in your particular case. I'm just saying that some cops are willing to lie about a crime.

Most of the discussion has been about cops on the scene of a potential crime. What has not been discussed are cops who investigate crimes some time after the event. These cops sometimes coerce witnesses into saying things that haven't happened for whatever reason to bolster a case that is weak and sometimes is done for political reasons.

I've stated many times there are plenty of crooked cops out there. I'm also of the opinion that they should not only be fired, but any sentence they receive should be doubled.

I'm sure there are many innocent people in jail that were put there by false confessions. I'm sure you've seen some of those shows like 20/20 where people have actually signed a false confession because they were tired of being grilled by the police.

As far as politics, well, there are of course cases where public pressure has caused police to rush an investigation and they end up arresting the wrong person. Look at how many death row sentences have been overturned in the last few years due to false testimony, witness errors, or DNA showing the wrong person was arrested.

I think what it comes down to is this. What kind of ethics and morals does the person have? Would a person steal something even though they knew nobody was watching? There are crooks and dishonest people in all walks of life, it's too bad some of them carry badges and guns.

Yeah, couple of posters have stated the same thing. When you read the original article is post #1, and then read the two I posted, you can see how the media has written three different things regarding this story.

I really believe there's more to the story than we're reading about.

If it comes out to be thats what happened, I would think it would be a lot worse on the husband and his friend for sure. The wife would almost be forced to choose between putting her sexual partner away for 4-5 years for rape, or having her husband do time.

I've seen it it the military where one cries rape (from everything from fear of being pregnant, to just being vindictive over a bad breakup), only to come clean after the soldier/airman was charged or worse- convicted.

My friend was jailed for rape, wrongly, for two years before being exonerated by belated DNA testing. It was a f****g nightmare for him, and worse, the real rapist actually committed two more rapes subsequent to the original crime my friend was bagged for. Essentially, my friend was convicted on a he said/she said testimony, and since he couldn't afford a real lawyer, the public defender was way out of his league. The case was miserably handled, most notably with the lack of immediate DNA testing.

Contrary to popular belief, DNA testing is rarely conducted on an immediate basis as it costs over $15,000, and unless the defense pays for it or the case is deemed significantly important enough to the community, the DNA is not going to be used if the judge feels the case can be tried without it. At least that's how it is here in Nevada.

In fact, he couldn't even get off the sex offender registry for 6 months after he was EXONERATED, that's how screwed up the system is. Of course, being on the registry pretty much kept him from decent work and he had to live in his car until he was finally propagated out of the system.

So I'm not so much to jump on the vigilante bandwagon for such a serious charge as rape anymore, though the vigilante gene in my body is as strong as the next red-blooded male.

What are the chances the sex was consensual, the woman was surprised her husband came home, cried "rape," and her lover got his ass kicked by her husband?

was the first thing i thought upon reading post 1.

They killed the rape SUSPECT. What if they were wrong? Do we really want people running around exacting vengeance. So the authorities have to arrest this guy. If it turns out this guy is actually the rapist, I am sure the husband will get a slap on the wrist.

BINGO!

CORRECT ANSWER.

The tough guy cowboys on this site are hilarious.

It as the same with the other thread when that retarded man barely touched that little black kid, and his father levelled him.

You cant do that shit. Thats why we have cops and justice systems.

Another possiblity that is very likely, that these ridiculous cowboys and cowboy internet posters should be thinking about.
