Quiznos seems to get a lot of good franchise reviews-at least around here.

On a totally OT note, is anyone else getting BURIED by this stupid ass Burger King commercial where the guy forces the car in front of him out of the drive thru? It's about to drive me nuts-I've never seen such intense saturation\repetition.

fiveguys looks intriguing - I like the simplicity of their menu (like In-n-Out) Too bad they don't have shakes

chipotle can be a fu.cking goldmine if you get it into any suburb. not only does the food completely blow away the competition, they do a good job with the unique 'feel' of the place as well. its not a place to put into an urban area. but if you get it even remotely near a suburb, you are set. how places like moes or qdoba even compete with this place is beyond me.

Should also add...if you are dead set on fast food...this place is the bomb. It's like Chipotle but much better IMO...

www.qdoba.com

These things are opening all over the place

Qdoba haven't done well in SoCal where people are familiar with good mexican food, the one in Simi Valley has already closed shop - last I heard they were owned by Jack-in-the-Box

Taco del Mar is just plain nasty and both in Ventura have closed - they don't even cook the food onsite, it's just warmed up in an oven

Moe's Mexican food is another fastfood mexican chain that opened and then promptly closed shortly after

There is a Moe's in a mall....the food is okay but they look like they are doing fine...for now

There is a Big City Burrito here (not in a mall) and that stuff is delicious.....would not shock me however if they close up shop in a few years.

a couple non-restaurant ideas would be a laundromat or a self-serve carwash

They both require very little labor and much easier to run compared to a restaurant

I would consider a Chick-fil-A resturant. They have been opening these up around the northern Ohio area lately. The local news show these fricken people camping out overnight because the first 100 people get free chicken sandwiches for a year when they open up a new store. These are like gold mines but they are closed on Sunday as the founder has it that way.Maybe others could chime in and share that story.

Does it HAVE to be a franchise ?

What is cost limit ?, it might take a million for some of these burger places

this is true.
s.truett cathy i believe is the founder. very good story and an example of somebody doing things the right way. very community oriented. not to mention the food is solid. to me, it doesnt even taste like fast food, which is probably the ultimate compliment you can give a place like that.

in all honestly, I would rather not do food....just seems to be where this thread went....that sounds like the most common "franchise"

self-serve carwash sounds pretty good. how much does that cost? and i can't ever recall seeing one without a gas station attached....

Does not HAVE to be a franchise.

Cost limit? I do not have the money to open up a 1,000,000 franchise so if I find a good enough idea (with the help of degenerates...lol), then I would then look for investors to join me. Although, i believe with a good enough idea, might not be TOO hard for financing.

Look into RolyPoly sandwiches. I have and everything looks good and they are way better than Subway. Good and healthy.

Chick-Filet you can't go wrong. Also I heard all the bookies in Haw charge -120 on straight bets. Don't know if thats true, but you could let'em lay 15 all day long and get all the business if it is.

There are a few cupcake shops and I think the cupcakes are going for like $2 a pop.

BTW, people in hawaii are pretty cheap. They probably wouldn't pay $4 a cupcake unless it was something special
