get in line very, very early. Google ps3 and you'll find forums discussing which stores to look at(not Toys R Us) and when to go.

I agree, they are actually releasing less b4 Cristmas than anticipated. Still, 2 grand is extreme. 1200-1300 is my guess.

I think 2K is also a bit extreme. At least a thousand is right. No more than 1500.

It will be a hot item. Sony is still the leader in gaming. Just because the 360 is out people will still want the PS3

If memory serves me correctly, the 360 was going for $2k strong a week after release. With the higher price tage of the PS3, I think that $2.5k is realistic.

I can get them here in Europe, they're gonna be 2x retail or more in most places but getting them will be no problem, not nearly as large of a demand. Potential for profit is lower though...

I am trying to get one early and shit. BUt i have never been a camper. I have a hook up but its gonna cost me 250. the problem is that i dont like any of the early releases. All the games i like for the ps3 dont come out until next year.

Only game i kinda like is Resistance, but its an FPS, i have not played shooters on a console that i liked. (ok siphon filter was some cool shit but thats about it)

even with fat fingers (lol), the prices are still really high. Many auctions have 9+ hours still left in them and the machines are hovering around 1k mark. Fat fingers might work for less popular items as I'm sure many people are trying this technique too to get this one.

Of course but if you can find items that way you're always going to find them cheaper. Maybe not drastically cheaper but believe me most of the dolts who are buying PS3's on eBay haven't thought about this. Some, maybe...many, maybe, but not most. And price on eBay is directly correlated to the number of people bidding, so the fewer the better!

I sold 3 360 last year at Christmas time for $2750 each on Ebay. You better believe this model will be selling for the same or much much more. Almost smart to pre buy them on Ebay for $1600 if you can get a guarntee that you will get it before Christmas. Only thing is production has been cut again due to bugs and those presales may not get here until April or MAy.

they might not even get any as all the best buy employees will be buying them up!

I told you folks, the employees cant get their dirty little hands on these units. I have been down that road to many many stores and you would be wasting your time trying to pay even an employee to hook you up..

there are ways to do this(i wont recommend any because of legality issues...Employees are completely useless.)


All units in japan were sold out in one day and the pending rumour is that
some units have been re-routed from the us market to japan. (I dont see why seeing as some of those units are already up for sale)

Saw on the news tonight that there were between 5-10 people lined up at a local Best Buy. I saw a few tents out there. One kid was interviewed said he was going to keep it and play it. The next kid flat out said he wanted to sell it.

If kids are lining up now, I have no chance to start lining up Thursday around 11pm after I get off work.

the review sounded unimpressive. The Games out on launch look bland and nothing awe-inspiring like a Gears of War type of game.

Definitely sounds like the game lineup won't catch up to the unit for a while. Waiting until April of next year doesn't sound so bad now.
