Just buy a 360.

By the time PS3 is available in sufficent numbers Microsoft will be coming out next gen again.This thing is behind schedule bigtime.Do you really need a blueray DVD player?

Like I said last year someone had a website that showed how many 360's each store was getting.

I have not seen one for the PS3 but if I heard anything I'll post it in this thread.

I thought ebay made some kind of deal where they're going to try to ban the profiteers. 2500 on ebay is an asshole thing to do but I know there are some people who would even buy it at that price.

there is about 5 things you have to follow if you want to put your ps3 up for sale that you preordered, one of those things you have to have like 98% feedback rating, as well a copy of the reciept posted on your auction

then there was a rumor that Gamestop and EB Games were going to determine who put up their pre-orders on Ebay and cancel those pre-orders. I haven't heard much else about it so it's probably just rumor.

This is a complete lie.

Guys just go to your best buy and find a sales rep, or even a manager and offer them 2k to hook you up with a ps3 on opening day.

They will all tell you the same thing. Sony will have a rep at the store checking to make sure that the units all go out to customers not best buy employees.

I specifically refer to best buy because i know where its almost impossible for these folks to do this. I dont know about other stores.

I know of 3 people that had their pre-order PS3's cancelled by EbGames for this exact reason.

even if prices do fall a bit initially, if you've got a first edition unit that is unopened it could be worth hanging on to for 6 months or so. I sold my PSP for 700 in that time frame because it was one of the few that had the original flawed firmware. (lets you download games and play them for free)

For Canadians, try a Loblaw's/Real Canadian Superstore that's big enough to have an electronics department. Should be getting 7 or 8 in, and there won't be a lineup (this was my experience with the 360).

Will the discount stores of the world (Wal-Mart, Target) be getting them in on release date? There are enough of them and gaming stores in SC, that getting one may not be as bad since people here can't afford the $600 for it. Market might be saturated in places such as this.

Im an XBOX guy thinking about getting the PS3 for the simple fact that its the cheapest BlueRay player on the market. Got a friend with a stand alone BLUERAY, and let me tell you, that thing is awesome!! He paid $1200 for the thing. He is one of those people who thinks he has to have everything first.

I have a question though. Im thinking that the PS3 is going to have slightly better games, but the issue is, im worried that PS3 live is not going to be nearly as good as XBOX live. How do the different live services compare.

I hear XBOX blow PS3 away.

I have XBOX live on XBOX1 and its great.
