As homework I'd like you to calculate the expected value of a single hand of Blackjack with an 8 deck shoe, no doubling down and dealer hits on soft 17

He needs also to know if splits are allowed, Does BJ pay 2/1 ? If not the game goes from -0.065% to -2.193%. I am assuming splits are allowed.

I would bet any amount of money that it's negative. No disrespect, but the amount of people who are in the black at blackjack who aren't counters is way less than 1%.
Of course, but I bet he won't admit it.

Let Pack believe in his streaks, it's not hurting anyone and hey, I love a drunken night of blackjack as much as anyone...

packer2012 as polite as I can possibly suggest. You should consider forgetting and ignoring everything that you believe true about blackjack playing .

just start with a clean slate, relearn the situations and what positive expectation and negative expectation really is, calcuate or read about what streaks are fully expected to happen and at what stat frequency so when you see them you dont think they are some indication of anything other than how negative expectation games or positive expectation games does progress at times .. and learn you can not detmine from past hands what is or is not a streak to change the situation of the game in your favor..... it will help your gambling career and not just in blackjack, my feeling is if you have thoughts like what you have shared about blackjack you would probably extrapolate that same thought to bacarret, craps, roulette, pai gow etc etc.
