to me it sounded like a direct shot at the hit he took in the playoff game in the steelers which tore apart his knee, and if thats what it is, then yes its a stupid statement which makes no sense. Similar to saying Ben folds up like a little bitch when he wrecks his motorcycle.

didnt mean that at all, i can be a dick but saying that is crossing the line. ill be back after class to discuss this more

Think you are highly underestimating the factor fantasy football plays into something like this. While the greats of the greats will be judged on superbowl championships when their playing days are over, current NFL players are no longer judged on championships. They are judged on what have you done for me lately in the Fantasy Football world.

In the last couple years, Carson Palmer has been great, #4 ranked QB in '06 and #1 ranked QB in '05. Rothlisberger at 16 and 14 in the same years. This is what the average fantasy football playing NFL fan will use to judge talent level.

very very very true statement. that's why aaron brooks got so many chances and why very few saw the flaws in culpepper's game before the dolphins signed him

We are talking about 2 different styles here. I do not believe that Palmer would do as good in the pittsburgh jersey as ben would not do as well in a cincy jersey. Fact is, Palmer may have a better arm, better awareness, and such like that. But when Im starting a team, I want that tough rugid QB that will get up in the face of a linebacker thats talking shit, and bring it even harder next play. I want that dude, that you know, is going to go out on that field and be a leader...Maybe Im bias and I try not to be, but I see more leadership in Ben than I do in palmer. Dude is ALWAYS wanting to be on that field for his team NO MATTER what. I also think thats his weakness, he comes back too early from injuries.

I just think your talking about 2 different animals here. I would want Ben on steelers, chicago, raven ect. but I would want carson on Indy, Rams, ect.

Another good comparision simialar to this one is brady and manning. Manning is by far has the better arm, awareness, ect. But if I need a QB for a game, you better believe Im taking Brady EVERY fucking time.

Bottom line, Ben is Underrrrrrated because of 1 fucking season. Let me throw you throw a car windshield and then cut your stomach open and you can go play some football vs some 300 pound roided monsters and see how you fair.

I want the winner on my team, and thats #7.

You guys think ben has a better supporting cast? You're crazy.

WRs: Johnson, Housh, Henry vs Ward, Holmes, WIlson - ADV Cincy
RB: Johnson vs Parker - Maybe a push, if anything adv Cin
OL: Steelers O Line really isn't anything special - they were mediocre last year. I'd give only a slight edge to the Steelers

Pit defense also wasn't it's usual dominating self last year. Ben steps up in crunch time as the great QB's do. Palmer is more skillful but Ben has the intangibles. I would put them neck and neck right now as I think both will have great careers. If I absolutely had to choose one I'd take Ben

Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won Superbowls as well..

BigBen did nothing to help his team win the Superbowl 40..

9-21 123yds 0TDs 2INTs

Yeah he really won the game for them...

Did any of you Fantasy Football jokers watch Big Ben in his first two seasons? I doubt it. You probably just read the USA Today for the Box Scores of the games. I'm not one to use too many slurs on message boards, but as far as I am concerned Fantasy Football is the Gayest thing I have ever seen. What a joke to act like you are the manager of some dumbass team.

Put your money up or shut up. Fantasy Football sucks. Every person who saw Ben play knows that he is an elite quarterback. He is right at the top of the list. Carson Palmer got manhandled against Pittsburgh last year, and if it weren't for the stupid fumble by Pittsburgh in the first game then they would have been swept.

Fantasy Football opinions don't mean shit. Most opinions don't mean shit. We'll see next year. Ben got the Super Bowl in his second year...rolled right through Cinci, Indy, and Denver...all on the road. Dominated the Indy game and Denver game as well.

Next year he will right the ship. I've never seen a QB get less respect.

Bigben did play a helluva game against the Broncos the season they won the SB.. That one pass to Hines Ward was one of the sweetest passes I've seen..

He is probably the only QB in the game that could of thrown that pass the way he did.. I'll give him that...

Carson Palmer got manhandled against Pittsburgh last year,

I guess its hard to judge this cuz we have so many different ideas what words mean, for example, I find it hard to believe someone could say Palmer was manhandled by PItt last year.

First game at Pitt
18/26 193 yards 4 TDs 2 INTs lost fumble
2nd game
20/38 251 yards 2 TDs 0 INTs

Though I do agree those are both bad games for him, 20/38 is terrible for Palmer
, but not sure if you can look at both of those games and say manhandled

We all know they measure how good you are as a QB in the NFL with how many Superbowls you win regardless of how you win them ugly or not

Scoreboard

Big ben 1 - Carson Palmer 0

its simple

This is quite simply retarted line of reasoning. Superbowls have nothing to do with defense and a running game and how good wide outs are now huh? What an idiotic post. Hell if Carson don't get hurt they wouldn't have even won that game let alone the superbowl.

In Dante's defense I think he was being sarcastic..

If not he is clueless..

That is like saying Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino..

The results of this poll and the absolutely idiotic comments being made by some of the Ben detractors make my mouthwater thinking about next football season. Hammer those Bengals...fade those Steelers..and I will do the opposite for all those juicy lines. Hope all you carson supporters are big bettors, too!! Bengals will have to work to stay ahead of brownies.:money8:

Palmer was hit a lot this year and I don't remember him folding up like a little bitch at all, he took shots all year with his repaired knee.

I mean honestly, he got sacked 6 times vs Pitt early in the season and threw 4 TD passes and got the victory. got sacked 4 times vs Clev and threw for 352 yards. He did get sacked 4 times by the Pats also and threw 0 TDs/0 INTs also in that loss and sacked 4 times by the Colts and only threw for 176 yards, but once again zero INTs. Sacked 3 times by Chargers and threw for 440 yards and 3 TDs. so not sure where youre going with that statement, cuz it dont make much sense methinks.

otoh looking at when Ben starts getting sacked a lot, sacked 5 times by the Chargers, he throws 2 picks, no TDs. sacked 4 times by the Broncos he throws 1 TD, 3 INTs, sacked 9 times by the Ravens, he throws zero TDs, 2 INTs, sacked 5 times by Baltimore, he throws 1 TD, 2 INTs. sacked 3 times by the Bengals he goes 18/39 with zero TDs, 3 INTs.

Carson did lose 7 fumbles this year while Ben only lost 2 fumbles

Ok, against Pitt Carson did not have a good game, he was very streaky. That was a deceiving stats game and even still he threw 2 INT's and fumbled 3 times in that game. When he got sacked 4 times by Cleveland he did throw for 352 yards but also threw another 2 INT's. Against New England he was sacked 4 times but lost 2 fumbles and had a mediocre passing day. Against Indy again he was sacked 4 times and fumbled the ball 4 times in another mediocre passing day. My point is that people tend to look at only the INT side but don't see the fumbles of a QB (thus the Brooks and Culpepper analogies)

This year Big Ben had 23 INT's and 6 fumbles with 2 lost fumbles in an admittedly bad year. However, if you look at Palmer's turnover numbers you can see they aren't much better. Palmer had 13 INT's but 15 fumbles with 7 of them lost. 15 fumbles!!!! Almost one a game at that average. When Palmer sees a rush coming he shits the bed and fumbles, whereas Big Ben will either take a hit and make the play or scramble and make the play. How many times have you seen Carson Palmer turn nothing into something? I can't recall but one or two. Now how many times have you seen Big Ben turn nothing into something? This happens usually once or twice a game. Big Ben can make the plays Carson can't.

Finally, Ben has shown that he can show up when it matters. He was superb in the playoffs last year and that game against Denver was one of the best games I've ever see any QB play. What happened when Carson needed 1 measly win in his last 3 games this season? Loss, loss, loss.

Give me the QB that will show up when it counts, give me the QB that knows how to manage a game, give me the QB that can make plays on his own, give me the tough sonuvabitch who will take a hit to complete a pass. Give me #7 any day of the week.

From the fact that Ben has been getting a bad rap by people who didn't watch the games, and from the fact that Fantasy Football, and stats in general, are for losers. Any other questions?

You should keep it at one TV, that way you can see what is going on. Next year we will have our answers. It is fun to root for who you like. No hard feelings, but Big Ben can go the Hall of Fame.

Well I will refrain from asking my next question, which is why are you being such an asshole.

I went to college at Miami (OH) at the same time as BB, and watched 10+ of his college games live. I also have watched MANY of his pro games including every snap of every playoff game he has ever played in. I consider myself a BB fan.

I am also not a Bengals fan by any stretch, as I grew up in Illinois and am a life-long Bears fan.

That said, I voted Carson, based on sheer quarterbacking ability.

Any other questions?
